Chapter 453 Anomaly
Chapter 453 Anomaly
Although summons possessed immortality during their stay in the ancient world, they were still susceptible to injuries that extended beyond mere superficial damages.
Alex didn\'t think much of it and drank a potion, and when his mana was back to a reasonable level, he used the regular version of the skill, hoping he could summon someone decent.
"Do you have a way to enter the barrier," Andrei said as he walked next to Alex.
"It will depend on our luck," Alex replied and hearing it, the whole team exchanged happy glances, realizing they were not out of the competition just yet.
The team didn\'t question how they would enter or why they shouldn\'t wait for the numbers to thin down before joining, just like they didn\'t question when Alex silently left the island, simply because they had complete faith in his abilities and judgment.
As the seconds ticked by and the summoning circle reached its peak, the same was true for the elemental storm raging inside the confines of the barrier.
The swirling vortex of wind, fire, lighting, and water had grown to touch the ceiling of the barrier hundreds of meters high, while the growing tornado was devouring tens of meters of landmass in elemental fury with every passing moment.
As the pool of darkness shrank into the center, coalescing into a cocoon-like shape, Alex appeared beside it, his hopes pinned on luck favoring him once more.
As the darkness dissipated, revealing the humanoid figure within, and with a quick check of his status that showed more than impressive stats and seeing them, a smile couldn\'t help but stretch across his face.
\'He would not be as good as Vorinax but he is strong,\' Alex thought as he met the eyes of his summon, a handsome young man who looked around with evident excitement in his eyes.
The summon belonged to an unknown race, and his name was Fulgor Tornasol, sanding just over four feet tall, with the face of a young child framed by golden, spiky hair that matched his gem-like golden eyes, his face carrying a broad smile, and his distinct features matching that of a normal human.
Alex was quite surprised seeing the appearance but knew better than to trust it, knowing that the small child was a peak Elementalist, wielding stats that, on average, crossed 270K, which placed him at the top 0.01%.
"Hey, Mister, who are we fighting?" Fulgor asked, his childish voice laced with curiosity as his eyes scanned the elemental storm.
"The creature responsible for the elemental storm and possibly the figures trying to bring it down," Alex replied, using his eyes of the Ancient to see through any illusion his summon was using, but to his surprise, he saw no change.
The surprise didn\'t end there, as like having acquired the purposes of his summon, Fulgor vanished in a flash of golden lightning, zooming straight toward the barrier, only stopping once he failed to phase through it.
But Fulgor didn\'t ask for Alex\'s help and instead took a step back as he stated aloud, \'Hydra,\' and instantly, a life-like draconic creature over ten meters tall, made purely of golden lightning, came to life behind him.
The creature\'s maw swiftly opened wide and released a thick beam of concentrated lightning at the barrier point blank, but the barrier didn\'t budge.
"You are in the way of my fun," Fulgor said, as his hand began to blur, like constantly running bolts of lightning, and it phased through the barrier without any resistance, making Alex and every other viewer watch with wide-open eyes.
It appears that Fulgor\'s hand had turned into pure lightning, easily phasing through the barrier and following right behind his arms, shoulder, head, torso, and the rest of his body.
In an instant, he vanished from sight, something that left even Alex baffled while his team and the viewers were left scratching their heads, not understanding what they had just witnessed.
\'What just happened,\' Alex thought, his mind filled with questions as he tried to make sense of what he had just witnessed.
Alex was more stumped by Fulgor\'s ability to transmute his body into lightning than the barrier\'s inability to keep him out.
"Brother, what kind of monster did you summon?" Andrei queried, his understanding of the situation incomplete, yet he was keenly aware that it was anything but ordinary.
"I dont know," Alex said, having the same question himself.
Alex watched the tornado of elemental fury reach its peak and slowly shrink down, leaving behind charred and destroyed ground, groups of players clumped together under the raised shields, and barely standing protective barriers.
The Quetzalcoatl stood in his position, his deep dark eyes scanning the area, and like enraged by seeing half of the challengers still standing with many not even suffering any serious damage, he roared toward the sky.
"It\'s time we join the fun,"
"Keep contact with me," Alex stated as he held the hilt of his sword, hoping that things would go as planned or he would be nothing but a spectator.
As the entire team made contact with him, Alex used the Temporal Beacon skill, selecting the mark inside the barrier as his destination, and with a flash of darkness covering his eyes, he felt the familiar temporal energy covering his body.
In an instant, Alex regained his sight, finding himself standing on solid ground and sensing his teammates by his side, he sensed relieved because he was not sure if he could transport people with him.
"HAHA, I understood you had something planned," Andrei stated as he tapped Alex on the shoulder.
"It looks like he had decided to stop holding back," Venedikt said, seeing the majestic creature\'s body visibly shrink, a clear sign of his humanoid transformation.
