Wisp! Awaken in the Magical World

Chapter 93: Decisions

"It doesn\'t feel half bad. Still, it was very nice of you to send most of the Universe Credits back to the government coffers. Too bad that quite a good part of it will end up being misused once again at some point," Alvin spoke.

"It is fine," Linfel didn\'t mind. "The country didn\'t even expect to get it back anymore, so that should be of some consolation. I left Romero without a single cent as well. Anyway, it should be about to arrive any moment now."

*Knock, knock...*

As soon as Linfel finished speaking, someone arrived at the door of their room. Linfel and Alvin were staying in a pretty average hotel, not catching anyone\'s attention. They opened the door, and it was the delivery guy. "Sir Rimaldo, right?"

"That\'s me," Linfel spoke with a smile. Right after, he used the guy called Rimaldo\'s Magic Energy Signature and received his package. He quickly brought it to the center of the room and opened it. "Now, that\'s more like it."

Inside, there were a thousand Brown Colored Magic Stones. Such stones were very erxpensive, and Linfel used most of the Universal Credits he got from Romero in them. Nonetheless, he didn\'t care. If he needed more, he wouldn\'t mind playing the hero once more. "Let\'s start, Alvin."

Now that Linfel and Alvin were Level Two, the level of Magic Stones they could use went higher as well. Linfel bought Low-Grade Brown Magic Stones as well since he could clean them and make them as good High-Grade ones.

Linfel and Alvin quickly connected to each other and Linfel started his job. Their training speed instantly multiplied, and they only stopped the absorption when Alvin\'s core reached its limit for the day.

During the day, Linfel and Alvin rented a training facility. In a world of Maguses and Familiars, such places became a necessity. The Sastasha City Academy, for example, had quite a few of them.

The best way to help Alvin\'s Core stabilize that much Brown Energy was through combat and constant use of his own Magic Energy. With that in mind, Linfel pushed Alvin to his limit, even paying some Level Three Maguses to come and be his sparring partner.

Linfel didn\'t forget to fight alongside Alvin, either. In some of those fights, Alvin and Linfel did connect, which increased their power with the merge of their Magic Energies. In others, Linfel only acted as support, while Alvin had to do his best to fulfill Linfel\'s training schedule. Alvin wasn\'t the only one benefiting, though.

Magic Energy was something new to Linfel, so the more he trained with Alvin, the better he got at using it.

Also, Linfel wasn\'t an idiot. As much as he wanted Alvin to reach Level Three before the exam, Linfel never forced Alvin beyond what he should. They only stopped to absorb more Brown Magic Energy when Linfel was absolutely certain Alvin\'s Core was in pristine condition, and no side effects would be left behind.

Linfel wasn\'t different in this aspect. Let\'s not forget what happened to Linfel when he tried to absorb High-Grade Red Magic Energy while he was still a Level One Wisp. His soul almost got damaged. In a certain way, that training also played a crucial factor for Linfel himself.

This kind of training continued for the next months. By the time two months went by, all one thousand Brown Magic Stones were gone. Neither Linfel nor Alvin cared, though. They once again went through the news of the past decade or so and quickly found their new target.

This target was even easier than the previous one. Her name was Laura, the granddaughter of a company owner in Ternubes. She oversaw the sacking of the company, causing the loss of tens of thousands of jobs and the company\'s bankruptcy. She enjoyed her days on a beach and was surrounded by security almost 24/7.

However, little did she ever expect that one of the workers in one of the stores she frequented wasn\'t a worker at all. It was none other than Linfel and Alvin! They used Linfel\'s Magic Energy Signature ability to pretend to work there. All Linfel needed was one touch, and the Magic Energy and Soul Waves were clearly memorized.

Just like the last time, all the information was leaked into the news outlets from Laura\'s own accounts. It was the second time such a thing happened, so some people began to wonder if it was a coincidence or not. Nonetheless, Laura was also taken away, and most of the money she had was sent back to their owners.

Linfel and Alvin obviously used the remaining money to buy more and more Brown Magic Stones. That was their payment for playing on the side of justice.

Finally, just eight days before the exam of the Ventis Sect, Alvin and Linfel\'s cores changed color completely. Brown energy began to take shape inside and became available for use. Well, Linfel could already use Brown Energy before, although very little. Now, he could fill his entire energy pool with it.

Alvin took a deep breath, raising his hand and controlling the Brown Magic Energy in his Core. "So this is how it feels to be at Level Three..."

Linfel smiled in response. "This is just the start. Since you decided to come along, I will use the fact you are my \'master\' to its full extent." Yet, his expression turned serious. "However, passing this exam also means leaving this planet. Alvin, I will ask one more time. Do you really want to leave your father?

I truly can\'t tell when you would be able to come back or if you could at all."

Alvin nodded with conviction. "After you mentioned you would take the exam, I had a long conversation with my father about this. He said he was certain I would regret it if I stayed behind. How could I go against his words?"

Linfel was happy he felt like that. "Then let\'s stop using Magic Stones for now. We will spend the next seven days getting used to Brown Magic Energy. After that, we will go to the exam site."
