Chapter 455: 455: Mrs. Mamet is So Dominating

Chapter 455: 455: Mrs. Mamet is So Dominating

“[She even let me touch her, innocently thinking there was something in her hair. She’s as cute as a kitten.]”

Xaviera Evans looked horrified.

Totally shattered her worldview! The thoughts in Caleb Mamet’s mind were unexpectedly… amazing!

Who knew this cold-looking scoundrel could have such an improper inner nature! You really can’t judge a book by its cover!

“[Why is she trembling? Is she feeling cold? She should go back to her room and rest after the meal, she should take care of herself, after all…]”

Xaviera shivered.

“[After all, our passion last night might have been a little bit too much, but she seemed to like it. She kept calling my name. Maybe I should just hold her and go to sleep together later.]”

Xaviera was left speechless.

Caleb’s expression became indifferent: “It’s still early, you should go back to your room and rest.”

Following that, Xaviera heard what was in the man’s heart —

“[I should also take a break. Cuddling against Mrs. Mamet’s soft body gives me a sense of happiness. But Mrs. Mamet still seems to be in pain, even though Steve Price said…]”

Steve Price?

Xaviera widened her eyes, but because Caleb had walked away, she couldn’t hear the rest of his thought.

What a flaw in the superpower. The moment he walked a bit farther, she couldn’t hear anything. Xaviera had no choice but to follow him.

“[Next time when Mrs. Mamet tries to seduce me, I must remind her not to do so. Girls should be reserved. Otherwise, I won’t be able to control myself.]”

“[But I like this.]”

A tender look appeared on Caleb’s face: “Maple House is secluded, no one will disturb your sleep. But grandmother will wake up today. We will accompany her for lunch, and also…”

He was about to say something, but he froze, looked at Steve Price standing next to him, and swallowed his words.

“[I was indeed a little too forceful last night. Fortunately, I prepared some ointment and applied it to her while she was asleep. She definitely wouldn’t have allowed it if she was awake.]”

“[I nearly forgot Steve is here. If I say these things in front of him, Mrs. Mamet will surely throw a fit. If that happened, I’d have to ask Steve to keep his mouth shut forever.]”

Xaviera bit her lip and didn’t say anything.

Looking at Caleb, his expressions and demeanor were still indifferent and calm. Steve would have probably never guessed what was going through their CEO’s mind!

Caleb accused her of acting, but he himself was the one keeping up appearances!

Xaviera turned around and went back to her room. The moment she lay down, she heard Caleb’s voice.

“[The doors and windows of Maple House…]”

What? She couldn’t hear what he said next.

Lying in bed, even though she was tired, Xaviera couldn’t fall asleep.

Did anything happen to Caleb after his flare-up last night?

Thinking about last night, how he looked when his affliction flared up, Xaviera couldn’t help but feel a chill. But she didn’t find Caleb scary. Instead, she felt a deep concern for him and worried about his health.

It was not as terrible as what the others said, labeling him as crazy. He was just suffering from an illness, like any other sick person. He just had a different way of venting his frustrations.

Xaviera closed her eyes, fatigue setting in.

Clatter clang…

The sudden noise made her wide awake. She got up from her bed, walked to the door, and listened carefully.

Those people from yesterday were back. How relentless!

With a darkened face, she went back into her room, pulled out a hammer from her bag, and stormed downstairs angrily.

These people were like persistent pests, disturbing her peace early in the morning. Did they think she was an easy target?

What time was it? They were here to nail the windows shut. Did they think she couldn’t hear that?

Both Caleb and Steve heard the noise outside. Before they could go out, they saw Xaviera charging out with a hammer in her hand, the anger clear on her face.

Steve exclaimed, “Holy shit!”

Mrs. Mamet is so badass, I love it!

Xaviera was truly enraged.

The moment she heard the noise, she knew they were back to nail the windows shut. They wanted to keep Caleb in darkness, which could result in more frequent flare-ups of his affliction.

His disease was not originally that severe, if he had family accompanying and caring for him, his emotions could be controlled. But those people not only failed to give him guidance, they tried to provoke Caleb, causing his flare-ups to be crazed outbursts.
