The Strongest Dragon in the Era of Beast Taming

Chapter 522: 516: Ghost Hunter Guilt

Seeing Jewel’s inexplicable actions, David Jones activated his Illusion-Piercing Eye to investigate.

[Ghost Beedle]: Sixth-Order S tier ghost implement, possessing the ability to devour, store, and purify the souls of the Ghosts. The greater the quality and quantity of the souls collected by the Beedle, the longer the purification time required.

Note: Pure, unconscious souls of Ghosts are excellent tonics for the strong, especially those Ghosts who specialize in tempering their flesh.

“So that’s it, using such a sinister method to gather souls, no wonder I was targeted!” David Jones’ gaze became even colder towards Jewel.

Using the lives of one’s own race to pursue great power, Jewel’s actions were no different from those of an Evil Trainer; such a person deserved to die!

Under David Jones’ watchful gaze, Jewel, who was currently absorbing the souls of the Ghosts, began to tremble, and then a long horn filled with evil aura suddenly emerged from her smooth forehead.

The moment the ghostly horn appeared, Jewel’s aura skyrocketed, and a layer of purple-black light emerged from her face, eventually forming numerous mysterious purple patterns, making her slightly painful face more enchanting and wicked.

“Aside from the color and pattern, the essence of these patterns seems similar to the black patterns on Aqua’s face!” David Jones mused with narrowed eyes. Feeling the surge of power within her body and the faint pain in her abdomen Jewel didn’t hesitate and began to break through in the opposite direction of ’ David Jones.

Gaining power from a haunting Ghost could greatly enhance her strength, but it wasn t enough to allow her to fight against higher levels.

If she lost her mind due to the power surge within her body and attempted to challenge David Jones, ignoring the slim chance of survival, death would be her only outcome.

“Stream Strangling!”

Facing the incoming Vine Dragon, Jewel roared and gathered violent streams in her hands, colliding with the Vine Dragon that was blocking her escape. “Rumbling!”

Feeling the terrifying force transmitted from the opposing vine, Jewel’s eyes flashed fiercely, and in exchange for her left hand, she unleashed a fierce blow that could rival a late-stage Ghost King, attempting to create a path through the vine’s blockade.

However, her full-force strike, sacrificing flesh and blood, not only failed to repel the entangled vines but also plunged her into a desperate situation with no escape.

“Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!”

First, a vine wrapped around Jewel’s slender waist, then countless Vine Dragons swarmed in from all directions, breaking through her defenses and tightly binding her entire body, leaving only her delicate face exposed. David Jones was not surprised by this result.

The gap between the Sixth and Seventh Orders was like a chasm. Although David Jones was confident that he could defeat Sixth-Order King-Class Exotic Beasts with his Fifth-Order strength, he wouldn’t dare say that he could defeat a Seventh-Order Tyrant once he reached the Sixth Order King. Even if his Contracted Pets included Gluttonous Beast, comparable to an Emperor species. “Chirp!” (Caught her!)

Lolo looked expectantly at David Jones.

“Well done, I’11 give you an extra meal tonight.” David Jones grinned.

“Kill me!”

Seeing that all her cards had been played and she still couldn’t resist, Jewel said in a desperate tone.

Alright, as you wish.” David Jones nodded, then said to Lolo, “Leave her a complete corpse.”

As soon as the words fell, a sharp vine directly slashed through space, aiming for Jewel’s heart.

Wait, may I ask what it would take for you to spare my life! I still have plenty of Mermaid Tears on me!”

Seeing that David Jones didn’t follow the script, Jewel hurriedly begged for mercy.

She had no choice – she couldn’t win against him, nor could she run away. At this point, her only option was to submit.

“Before you answer my questions, remember that you only have one life! If you tell a single lie during this time, you should know the consequences.” David Jones said coldly.

“If you are willing to sign a contract and guarantee to spare my life, I will do anything you say!” Jewel blinked her beautiful eyes and subconsciously tried to seduce him with her enchanting figure.

However, seeing Jewel bound by vines like a caterpillar, David Jones found her attempt quite ridiculous.

“There is no room for negotiation. Whether you live or die depends on the value of the information you provide.”

David Jones shook his head, not willing to show any mercy to a mermaid who had tried to kill him.

The one who kills others will be killed in return; Jewel’s death was almost certain, and changing this outcome would be difficult unless she offered him an irresistible bargaining chip.

“Which force do you belong to?”

As he asked the question, David Jones observed Jewel’s emotional fluctuations with his Illusion-Piercing Eye.

Upon hearing the question, Jewel hesitated. The organization she belonged to was infamous in the eyes of the Thirteen Sacred Clans and was even suppressed by Umbral authorities. If she revealed the name of the organization, her death might come even sooner.

“It seems you don’t want to live.” David Jones’s voice was cold.

“Ghost Hunter Guilt.”

“Oh.” David Jones looked deeply into her eyes, “I remember I have no grudges with the Ghost Hunter Guilt. Was the decision to attack me yours or from the higher-ups of the Ghost Hunter Guilt?”

“It was my idea.” Jewel admitted frankly.

“Very well, you’re quite cooperative. Do the higher-ups of the Ghost Hunter

Guilt know of my existence?” David Jones’s tone softened slightly.

“They don’t.”

Jewel looked up at David Jones, and immediately understood what he was apprehensive about.

To Umbral, the Ghost Hunter Guilt was nothing but an ordinary evil organization, save for the elusive Ghost Hunter Guilt Master. However, for one of the Thirteen Sacred Clans, the Ghost Hunter Guilt was a force that must not be underestimated.

If a single Sacred Clan were to suppress them, at least some resources would have to be consumed in order to succeed.

If she revealed that the Ghost Hunter Guilt Master had his eyes on David Jones -an affiliated Healer who belonged to one of the Sacred Clans-he would find it hard to sleep at night, but she dared not lie to him.

“Record all the high-level cultivation techniques you know in this Heritage Stone.” David Jones pulled out an empty Heritage Stone and placed it on Jewel’s forehead.

Upon hearing this, Jewel looked at David Jones in surprise.

Could she be mistaken? A young genius from one of the Thirteen Sacred Clans would not easily covet cultivation techniques from the outside world, especially ones they believed to be inferior and possibly fake.

But it shouldn’t be. David Jones had cultivated his flesh to such a high level, which meant that the techniques he had been practicing must be above Imperial level, or even the Venerable level (legend), which could not be found in County City, judging by his personal Guardian Beast.

“No problem.” Jewel closed her eyes and recorded all the high-level techniques she knew in the unprecedented Heritage Stone.

“She’s surprisingly cooperative!”

Seeing that Jewel immediately began recording the techniques without any hesitation, David Jones kept his composure but became even more cautious.

Fortunately, his Illusion-Piercing Eye-could see through the truth and falsehood. If Jewel dared to fabricate cultivation techniques, David Jones would be able to see through her lies instantly.

I ve done everything you asked, can you let me live now?” Jewel looked at him hopefully.

“Chirp!” (V)/(she’s lying!)

Lolo raised her little hand, ruthlessly exposing the lie.
