Chapter 116: The Princeps Takes Office!
"Princeps, ut za'hak!"
The Prince is eternal! A worthy greeting that now boomed throughout the streets, spreading across the city as Mithras made his way to the Springtime Lord's palace!
On the way, he passed Akamana, Vel'Asha, and a variety of men and women dressed in dark and purple academy uniforms.
Some looked at him with awe, others with warmth, curiosity, lust, jealousy, and envy, but all looked anyway—unable to take their eyes from that walking marvel!
"Ohh-ohh-fuck...ahhhh!" Mithras's swagger was too much to bear, causing spontaneous orgasms in the female crowd as he waltzed through the city!
Mithras hadn't noticed it yet, but following his perfection, his hair had grown considerably, now like an ink-colored mane that fluttered at his back with wild and primal flair!
His eyes carried incomparable bestial intensity, burrowing in the onlooker like the fangs of a predator. And so it's not surprising that once Mithras reached the Springtime Lord, the poor Great Expansion templar dropped to his knees, convinced that a God had descended from the Higher Planes to judge his life of sin.
"Divine Grace...Divine Grace!" The aristocratic gangster stammered nonstop, lost and unable to get a grip.
Vel'Asha found the comparison disrespectful. For having seen her fair share of Gods and Antigods, she dared say that not one could compare to Mithras.
Of all Superior Beings, the Sun is the most splendid after all—with no end of mysteries and mystic.
"From now on, Springtime City becomes the capital of the Principality of Astalon. So I hope you will understand that your palace and the Jade District will be repurposed to house my crew.
Now that I think about it, weren't you supposed to have that arranged before our arrival? Mhm...not a good look. It ain't a good look, brother.
Seems to me you had no intention to hand over the reins of this city. Terrible attitude. I hope for you that my godmother isn't too pissed. Women can be so petty at times. Then it falls on the man's shoulders to reason with them or vent their frustration for them.
Tedious either way, but between you and me...I'd much rather crush your skull than debate Cassandra for your bitch ass," Mithras said, waltzing into the throne room as the poor city lord suffered a little seizure. Just a little.
Extravagant enough to host a lavish royal court, the Springtime Throne Room dazzled with marble walls and crystal chandeliers that flashed with Ener Bulbs.
The City's high level assembled in the hundreds, merchants, guild masters, gang leaders, researchers, human traffickers, and a variety of aristocratic mob bosses, all stood straight like arrows, greeting their Prince as he sat on the Colorful Crystal throne.
For a mere City Lord to be able to afford a court of this magnitude was no doubt criminal. Awe-inspiring, yes...but criminal to the extreme. Making Mithras wonder if he wouldn't be drawing too many covetous eyes by taking ownership of the Crystal Throne.
Unnecessary worries! In the world's number one city of vice and extravagance, this was the standard!
All noise and bluster came to a halt, the audience holding its breath in expectation of Mithras' first official decree! Anything would do...but the world had to get another taste...of the Prince's style and flair!
fy. But it is moments like these that make me realize...that I'm really not built for the life of an aristocratic thug.Aristocratic thugs give me the jitters. That...will probably never change. And now that I'm done with my little performance..." Mithras stood up, and in a flash of solar rays, shifted from armor to suit and pants, now wearing the dark and purple uniform of the Jade-Faced Academy!
"I've got an R-18 Degree to earn, a Thesis to complete, a crooked name to spread and a world of culture to discover so...the Prince is out.
The Prince...is going to skewl!
Bye fellahs! I leave the city in my godmother's capable hands. Act a fool, Cassandra, I believe in you.
Oh, and you all gotta pay 500 Ener Crystals for your seats. I know you're standing and all...but operational expenses are a bitch and won't pay for themselves," Mithras said, scamming a quick 150 grands as he glided past the stairs and crossed the crowd with an impish smile.
"Huhhhh?" It came without warning. The audience had barely started that it was over already!
That was it? Yes, that was it! And they still had to pay for it! Perfectly balanced as all things should be!
"I...there's something I need to tell you." Catching Mithras by the wrist, Cassandra stopped him mid-track, her hand trembling as she tugged on his sleeve.
'Don't sweat the small stuff. Our bond...is not as fragile as you seem to think. What's in the past I can forget, especially since it has caused me no lasting damage, and you're coming clean on your own, albeit a bit late.
With that said...' Mithras' words trailed off, and though his tone didn't change, as he turned towards Cassandra, the intensity of his aura skyrocketed, pressing on the throne room like the weight of a primordial monster.
'This is the last time, Cassandra. If there's something else you need to mention, come clean now, and let's move forward on proper bases,' Mithras sent another mental message, the calm and poised words filling Cassandra's heart with unprecedented terror.
'No...nothing!'
'Good. Cassandra, from now on do remember that though my heart is large and can accommodate many, each part is unique—unique and irreplaceable. So I hope you understand, that if you one day cause me to lose a piece of my heart, though I love you deeply...forgiveness...will not be a part of the equation.
Understood?' Mithras asked, and without delay, Cassandra nodded, inwardly pledging to never fall prey to another murderous outburst.
'Good. Relax, dirty laundry is not cleaned in public, we will finish this later,' Mithras said, gently stroking Cassandra's curls, before weaving past Akamana.
In that instant, Mithras bit his lower lip, Akamana's cheeks turned bright red, and she vanished altogether, teleporting to another location.
"What did you do to her?" Noticing Akamana's odd reaction, Vel asked.
"A man gotta keep a man's secrets. Let's just say I gave her a tap of encouragement so she doesn't lose sight of the north," Mithras said with a shrug, but for some reason wouldn't stop passing his fingers over his lips.
"Intriguing. I was sure you were going to do your best to make her life miserable." The Queen Regent mumbled, her eyes narrowing in suspicion as Mithras towered above her, giving Vel his arm.
A rogue with manners. The invitation was most welcome, and so without hesitation, Vel'Asha wrapped her arm around Mithras' left, her head leaning on his shoulder as they walked out of the throne room—a spontaneous date of sorts.
"You still have a lot to learn about me. I am now privileged to be able to tell what hides in a person's heart. A scary ability...but so rewarding at the same time.
Now, I don't have to ask. Don't have to doubt. I just have to listen, and her heart will give me 1,000 reasons to be at ease.
So why would I begrudge a woman whose brain is filled with thoughts of me? It's actually terrifying how much of me is in her already.
Living rent-free in a demoness' heart. Life goals...life goals!
So yeah, I will make her suffer for sure, and I know she will fight back, looking for hooks and counters with her usual sass and style. But I'm not petty enough to waste the bragging rights that come with being able to say:
'Of all the madwomen in this motherfucking world...I got the one with rizz,'" Mithras said with a radiant smile, the spontaneous words making Vel chuckle nonstop.
"Life is so short. Bliss a disjointed series of fleeting moments. Being loved is such a blessing. And to be adored...a feeling most will not experience in a lifetime.
So why would I not hold tight on those mad gals who love me like crazy? For the Lord is my savior, I can fix my hussies. So fix them I shall...with a little dose of discipline...and pounding pleasure." Mithras looked Vel in the eyes, stealing a kiss without warning before letting go of the Queen Regent and spinning towards...the Queen of Monsters!
