Chapter 155: Lightning Blade Tempest, World of Lightning
"You just wasted a chaos gadget," Erix sneered. "You can't catch me. Stop with your futile attempts."
The woman's face turned dark.
Suddenly, both of them heard the sound of an explosion.
'Rin is out,' Erix disappeared and appeared a kilometer away, behind the mountain where Rin was facing a man holding a staff with a crystal amber orb resting on its throne head.
'A mage-type class,' Erix judged upon seeing the man's attire and weapon.
Naturally, the man sensed Erix's presence and looked above Rin with a dark expression.
'Rin, we don't want to waste time against them,' Erix said.
'Alright, let's scare them off,' Rin said before she dug her Blade Eater into the ground and said to the man, "Get lost, and we'll spare you."
The enemy woman also arrived while flying as she floated above the man with a cautious expression.
'Both of them are troublesome,' she said to the man via spirit chatting.
"Spare us? You think you can kill us?" the man grunted, his eyes narrowed, and mana revved inside him.
"Of course," Erix smiled and took out something from his Hunter's card.
Seeing the thing, both the man's and woman's face paled involuntarily.
"Y-You…"
In an instant, the woman left as she realized there was no chance of killing the duo with just two of them.
The man looked at Lex's cut-off head for a second before he grunted, "I don't know, and you don't know me. Let's end it here."
"Get lost," Rin snorted.
The man didn't say anything and left.
"Well, at least he was polite to call it off, unlike that woman," Erix laughed.
"Hehe, she probably pissed herself seeing Lex's head," Rin sneered.
Of course, Erix and Rin knew that the other two simply wouldn't be a match for them because they were more powerful! Simple as that.
…
The duo continued and finished four challenges successfully and got 800 points. Now only short of 200 points, the duo continued onwards for half a minute before encountering a treasure temple.
"It's Boss Killer," Rin rubbed her palms. "I'll go compete in it."
"Alright. Meet me 2 kilometers northwest after you are done," Erix said before disappearing, not wasting any time, and arriving at another treasure temple he found.
On the other hand, Rin entered inside, arriving in a vast valley with a swamp behind her and a ravaged black forest ahead of her.
She saw a twenty-meter-tall minotaur ahead of her that quickly vanished upon her arrival while the challenger turned around and narrowed her eyes at Rin.
She was a two-meter-tall woman with a huge figure. She appeared human, but Rin could sense the existence of Bloodline in her, though she also felt that the woman's blood was inferior to her.
"So it's you," the woman said, her arms crossed on her silver metal armor. Her dark blond hair flew behind her as she descended and stood ten meters away from Rin.
"I guess we are famous now," Rin shrugged and smiled.
"Lizmet," the woman said.
"Rin."
The new challenge notification appeared, and both of them read it.
[ Two bosses. One to each participant. The first one to kill the boss appointed to them will win. The challenge competition will start in 10 seconds. ]
Roar!!
Two giant black Minotaurs with brown patterns on their bodies materialized.
One in the black forest and one behind Rin. Both of them knew which one was assigned to them and quickly made moves.
The woman with dark blond hair rushed towards the Minotaur as her wrist braces shone and a dark blue giant axe materialized in her hands which she struck the monster, reducing its Vitality by 14%, and then slapping the Axe towards the fist Minotaur threw to deflect it, her monstrous strength overpowering the Minotaur who had 1200 stats in Strength.
On the other hand, Rin began by consuming 200 mana into that lightning bolt and shaping it into a blade to apply the Blade concept's power to it.
The Blade Bolt struck Minotaur's leg while also hitting the swam, producing a huge amount of current and paralyzing the boss, reducing its Vitality by 2%.
But that was just the beginning. Rin transformed her Blade Eater into Katana, which had all the powers and effects of other weapons her Blade Eater had eaten.
She swung her Katana horizontally, her eyes flickering with lightning. That single swing cost her 400 mana as she executed the most powerful skill she had created to date and one that she had refined just recently in the Limitless Plane.
Lightning Tempest Blades!
Her swing formed an arc of lightning before her in a wave shape, which was suspended in the air with a complex formation of blade shapes glowing on it.
'1st release.'
Rin swung her blade one more time into the arc and finished executing the skill as her swing activated the tempest, causing ten blue Lightning Blades to shoot towards the paralyzed Minotaur as it roared towards the sky, its body trying to move.
*Boom!*
Those ten lightning blades struck its skin, piercing an inch inside before breaking into lightning tendrils and lengthening its paralyzed debuff.
-6% vitality!
But this was just the start of the true Lightning Tempest Blades!
At once, she spent 500 more mana and swung four times, creating barrages of lightning blades as their colors changed each wave!
First swing.
She consumed 50 mana and empowered the lightning arc as it shot ten more lightning blades, but a bit darker blue as she enforced lightning sparks to combine and increase their potency. They struck the giant Minotaur, shaving its health by 8%.
Second swing.
-100 mana.
She released ten lightning blades with a dark indigo shade.
-13% vitality.
Third swing.
-150 mana.
Ten highly dark blue lightning blades with violet shades struck the monster.
-20% Vitality. Further Paralysed.
Fourth swing on the arc.
-200 mana.
Ten pure violet lightning blades struck the Minotaur.
-29% vitality!
All of these attacks occurred in two seconds!
'Now this is the real Lightning Blade Tempest,' Rin grinned, a hint of thrill and pride in her eyes. She knew that she had executed one of the toughest things she had attempted.
Rin had discovered that just like with other elements, Lightning also had a world of its own. The lightning's structure was made up of Lightning Sparks, which were super tiny. Each lightning spark was faint blue, and if more of them condensed according to her control, she could form them into anything she wanted, like a blade or a bolt. It was much like other elements.
However, these lightning sparks also had their own uniqueness, which was that they could evolve. Each lightning spark had two charges: a positive charge and a negative charge.
If she set a bunch of Lightning Spark's charge as positive and then showed negative charge lightning sparks into them, they would evolve into stronger lightning elements. If she superimposed this process to the maximum she could, it would result in violet lightning that she conjured in the last barrage of her Lightning Blade Tempest!
She could discover this new world and make further progress in the affinity thanks to Spirit Sense.
After all, Spirit Sense allowed one to peer further and comprehend more about everything.
