God Ash: Remnants of the fallen.

Chapter 507: Azure Water Calamity (1).

But they couldn\'t escape the all seeing {Eye of Clairvoyance}. Not only that, but his other senses were also incredibly delicate as well thanks to his enormous perception stat.

Extending the reach of {Eye of Clairvoyance} he could see that numerous beasts scattered around the island were converging on their position.

The migraine afflicting him suddenly became unbearable, forcing him to terminate the skill\'s activation.

\'Fuck. I\'ve done it now.\' Continually overdrafting his mana was coming back to bite him in the butt. This wasn\'t the first time he had handled something he shouldn\'t have. While it was possible to squeeze out more mana than what is contained within the mana pool, that didn\'t mean it was advisable, as it could have very terrible effects if done in excess.

Cain sighed, wiping off the trickle of blood.

"Vince..." Cain called out to Vincent who wore a pair of strange goggles, firing off an entire magazines worth of bullets into a large Mutant Beast that had just broken through a wall.

Hee turned to Cain, "Boss?"

Cain frowned as he fired a bullet into an adjacent wall,

"There are a few more powerful ones coming in from the northeast. Take care of them."

Vincent grinned, "No problem at all."

"Jenny, a big guy is headed out way. Snipe him down as soon as possible." Cain managed to say before spitting out a mouthful of blood.

"Cain..." Jenny shot him a look filled with concern.

Evangeline sighed as she slashed through the artery of a struggling creature. She wanted to tell him but to push himself, but chose not to say anything...

Cain cleaned the blood up and looked around. Right now, they were moving incredibly slow thanks to the huge number of people following behind them. Most of them, which included Manny, Blaze, Ignis, Hunter... were behind the large group of humans, protecting them from the hungry jaws snapping at their heels.

Their job was to clear a path forward. However, achieving this was difficult. Even if they went all out to run at full speed, they would not be able to outrun what was coming. Cain\'s {Spatial Jump} had only put them a small distance ahead. This advantage was also about to be lost.

Cain gritted his teeth. He had figured this would be a problem, but he had done this anyway. Right now, his mana pool was empty. If he failed, not only himself, but the lives of all these people would be lost as well.

At the rear lines, Suki was trying her best to create earth walls that would severely impede the movement of the beasts. This was the only reason they hadn\'t been attacked yet.

Right now, with his empty mana pool, he had very few means to act upon.

Suddenly, the island shook again. This time, the quake was far greater than any other. The ground shook, and many people fell to the ground. Panic ensued, as people were trampled upon, some even to their deaths.

It was the beginning of a disaster...

A rather small, yet nimble Mutant Creature managed to use this as an opportunity to sneak into the group of bundled up humans from above.

In their midst, those that were at the forefront and the rear couldn\'t do anything in the meantime.

It revealed it\'s sharp claws and began a massacre within the midst of these people

Although the initial days of the apocalypse had been dark, when Lukas and the Lightslayers had taken control back of the Eastern Island from beasts and Devils that had populated it, thingsbhad been peaceful.

Although it wasn\'t as good as their former lives, stress free and luxurious, at least they were still breathing.

But now, Eve that seemed Luke a far off dream...

The creature, unable to be identified due to its immense speed, flashed withon the crowd, reaping lives like grass.

"Damned bastard!" Calio, who just so happened to not be so far away from the creature spread his fingers.

A net of mana threads spread out wide from his fingertips, homing in on the creature. The beast was forced to stop. It\'s claws stretched out, slashing he at the threads of mana.

"Got you." Cain muttered the moment the creature stopped moving and revealed itself.

The handgun in his hand spat out a singular bullet that cut through the air almost instantaneous. The bullet smashed into the side of the creature\'s head, penetrated its skull, and reached its brain before exploding, killing it on the spot.

Cain smoothly ejected the clip in the gun and retrieved another from his inventory.

\'These things sure come in hand...\'

Because his mana pool was very vast, he wasn\'t able to make use of all the clips and magazines of the {GT-01 Magnum} handguns he had made stored in his inventory. The majority of them had been passed to the Beastmen fighters, while he had also kept a large number with himself just in case.

And it had paid off...

Locking the clip in place, Cain finally glanced at the system prompt that appeared when he killed the strangely agile creature

***

{Congratulations to Host... You have slain a Stonevein Wraith}.

{+10 Free Attribute Points}.

{You have obtained a Rare equipment}.

\'Stonevein Wraith? What kind of creature is that?\'

Cain put the felled crrature to the back of his mind and continued forward.

As such, they continued to push forward, fighting the numerous demented creatures who in turn sought out their blood and flesh fiercely.

Lost in the slaughter, Cain didn\'t even realize when they had closed in on the shore. From here, he could even see the tattered sails of Gwendolyn waving. It was almost as though the ship was greeting her master.

Or wishing him farewell...

They say, that failure usually comes just when victory is at hand.

It came like a storm...

The ground beneath them suddenly began to crack open like an eggshell under pressure. By now, thanks to the constant attacks from mutant creatures and those that were unable to keep up falling behind, the total number of people in this large moving congregation was a little over a thousand.

This was a huge number, and moving them through the narrow streets had been a hassle.

Now that they were closer to the shore, they were able to see the many Lightslayers fighting against ferocious Mutant Creatures. The clash was fierce. Because of the {Soul Deity of Darkness} summon skill that had evolved from {Sigil of Darkness}.

Cain swallowed all the information his senses brought back to him.

\'Hunter... Get these people moving we\'ll buy time for them.\'

The way the thought transference skill worked was quite fascinating. So long as he wished it, his thoughts would be transferred over to Hunter through the strange white-furred, three-eyed wolf he summoned.

It was rather strange. But it was convenient...

\'On it.\'

At the rear lines of the massive moving congregation, Hunter stabbed a Mutant Creature to the ground, the proceeded to yell at the top of his lungs whilst the still alive creature struggled to maintain its living state;

"Get your asses moving! Hurry up!"

He then turned to Suki and gave her a targeted stare,

"Get them away from here as fast as possible. We\'ll hold these beasts off."

Suki\'s face was a bit pale from having used so much mana. Still, she nodded.

Summoning a strange looking shell charm from her inventory, she clasped it close to her chest and began whispering softly.

The seashell began to glow with a soft blue light,

"Blessing of the East Goddess."

The words flowed off her lips like rivers flow into the ocean. The light spread with her as the epicenter, onto everyone around her.

Hunter felt a rejuvenation fill up the depths of his exhausted spirit.

"What was that?"

The seashell charm turned dull a moment later and broke apart, turning into dust, and drifting away with the breeze.

"Something to help us move a little faster."

Just then, Hunter noticed a significant increase in the speed of the people moving.

He frowned, "Why didn\'t you use it sooner?"

She sighed, "It lasts for only five minutes. I was saving it for when we needed it the most."

Hunter accepted her explanation.

"On any case, we need to hurry. This place is going underwater any moment from now." Hunter said, a dark look falling upon him.

Suddenly, all the Mutant Creatures attacking them and the Lightslayers began to look around frantically. Some of them even began letting out cries of anguish as they fell to the ground convulsed.

A look of understanding fell upon Cain\'s face,

\'The creature has broken off its hold.\'

Then a chilling suspicion crawled up his spine.

\'Why?\'

Whatever it was, he knew it was bad. Very bad.

The few stronger creatures, like the {Sea Drakes} were already jumping back into the water to swim away.

Meanwhile, the Crimson Warriors had no idea what was going on. Apart from the momentary quaking of the island, they didn\'t know what was happening. Meaning they had no idea what they fate was.

Thanks to Suki\'s charm and the fact that even the recently unbewitched mutant beasts not finding the time to attack them, the group managed to reach the place where the ship was docked faster than expected.

"Quick! Get on the ship!"

Cain wasted no time at all. Those on the ship assisted in getting everyone on board. In a few minutes, everyone had boarded the ship.

\'Go, go, go!\' Cain yelled in his mind.

Gwendolyn drifted away from the island as quickly as physically possible and began sailing away.

Just as Cain was about to heave a sigh of relief, the feeling of being thrown into the air assaulted his senses.

"Crap!"
