Re-Awakening: I Ascend with a Legendary class

Chapter 3: The Resurrection

As this unrecognizable notification arrived before everyone’s eyes, a strange calamity descended.

Geography changed due to seawater being reduced by 20% and new lands formed. Despite Earthquakes and tsunamis occurring over the globe resulting in large-scale destruction, no human or animal was hurt because a mysterious protective golden film enveloped everyone when the first notification arrived.

It was all magical as the calamity remained for 24 hours, and after that, everything was fixed. It was as if someone was treating this planet as clay to play with and mold it as they like.

The geography changed, and something else also appeared.

Thousands of Labyrinth Gates.

They appeared in different parts of the globe, with all those gates leading into a single large Labyrinth.

The Grand Abyss Labyrinth.

At the same time, all humans at eighteen years old and above received a notification in their minds.

It told them to select an option.

Everyone had five options.

[Warrior]

[Mage]

[Thief]

[Tank]

[Support]

[Select within 1 hour.]

[Failure to select before the countdown will result in instant death.]

[If you have selected, you will enter the Grand Abyss Labyrinth after the countdown. Since you are the first ones on Earthart to enter, you shall be given a newbie pack containing a common-grade weapon suitable to whatever class you awaken.]

[Good luck.]

That was how humanity on Earthart was ushered into the new age.

Age of Adventurers.

The general currency became Gold Coins that one could acquire after killing monsters in the Labyrinth.

After the initial forced entry, everyone was required to enter the Labyrinth within one month of turning 18 years old.

The Newbie pack was removed after the first wave of humans entered, but it was nothing important since people could easily get a common-grade weapon inside the Labyrinth.

The system also asked for monthly tax in Gold Coins after one turned eighteen and entered Labyrinth, with the tax increasing according to their level.

But with power, riches, and fortunes as rewards to obtain, many adventurers braved the labyrinth.

And many died trying.

Ten years later, humanity was fairly established in the new age.

The Labyrinth was an unknown world that humans had to explore, and so far, the top forces of humanity were exploring the 10th Floor after defeating the 9th floor’s Floor Boss three months ago.

Aside from labyrinth gates at different places on Earthart that remained permanent, Dungeon Doors would appear randomly as well, granting rich rewards with great difficulty.

Unless a Dungeon was cleared, it would gradually fill up, and a Dungeon Break would occur, pouring monsters onto Earthart, so Adventurers also had to clear dungeons.

Guilds consisting of powerful Adventurers were established, and the Global Adventurers Association was formed to maintain the world of Adventurers.

The concept of countries was replaced with a single governer body—Earthart Union, due to geographical changes and looming danger from the mysterious system that brought dungeons and Labyrinth that nobody could figure out.

The Labyrinth was permanent but had schedules.

The labyrinth’s gates through the globe would only remain open for 15 days a month.

During the first half of the month, they remained closed.

Once it opened for people to enter, the exit portal would appear every three days for 5 hours, for a total of five times during the 15 days the Labyrinth remained active.

And every three days, the defeated monsters and bosses would respawn, or new ones would arrive with stronger power, granting new rewards and riches.

The newbie awakeners, those turning 18, must enter a labyrinth within one month or accept death.

Almond turned 18 nine days ago, and he was waiting for the day to enter the Labyrinth once it opened.

With his frail body that couldn’t physically train due to a gene defect, he was weak. But he had absorbed all helpful knowledge about the labyrinth and the type of powers recorded so far in the library and daily news because he wanted to turn around his life after entering the labyrinth!

He thought he could fix his condition by selecting a support class at first and then creating a powerful build after reaching level 10, where everyone is given a specialized second class!

He also trained in the use of Mana, learning Physical Enchantment by doing a hellish training, but due to his Strength already being low, it wasn’t useful yet. However, it would become useful after adding stat points to his low Strength after leveling up.

There was also a rare power called Soul Core that some Elite and Boss monsters would drop.

Adventurers could equip a Soul Core in their body to gain a new set of skills.

There were plenty of opportunities for one to get strong and turn around their situation after becoming an adventurer if one was brave and hardworking enough.

Or so Almond thought until the last moments of his life.

[Unique conditions fulfilled.]

[You have triggered a special event.]

[By staying between the realm of living and dead with your stubborn soul and a flicker of luck keeping your body alive thanks to your class, you are granted a special class courtesy to #####.]

’Am I making up things due to my broken hope even after death?’

’There’s still darkness around-’

Suddenly, Almond’s eyes shot open as he found himself floating mid-air with a powerful aura gushing out of him and enveloping him.

[Congratulations. You have awakened an SS-rank class—Spirit Dealer]

Almond slowly descended on the ground, his injuries healed, and feeling healthy like never before.

"I…am alive?" Almond’s eyes trembled as he looked at his hands and body, feeling everything as real as reality.

"I am alive."
