Re-Awakening: I Ascend with a Legendary class

Chapter 53: I Got His Back

"That old man had broken many of my bones when I was in the military," Dagon wryly smiled. "And even more when we worked together in the Labyrinth exploration in the beginning. He is a stickler for the rules, but…"

Dagon looked at Sabrina, who nodded at him and turned to Lily, "Dear, your friend-"

"Boyfriend," Lily corrected her.

Sabrina rolled her eyes, "Yeah, your boyfriend. He didn’t do anything but kill those three, right?"

"Yes."

"However, Jacob and the other two killed him first at the starting area, correct?"

"Yep."

"Then don’t worry about this," Sabrina smiled. "Although they do plan to punish nasty people who go out of their way to harm and sabotage other Adventurers using Arcane Eyes, Almond won’t be on that list."

Dagon nodded and said, "Naturally, that doesn’t mean he will be off the hook. If that old man Rudra is one of the people overlooking the Arcane Eyes, Almond will be called to the headquarters."

Lily frowned, "What will they do to him? Dad, Mom, I am telling you, I am going to live with him in Firefly City once he finishes his speed-hunting in the labyrinth! That’s final. You have to make sure nothing bad happens to him!"

She stood up and said with flames in her eyes, "I want him in my life just like how you two are in each other’s lives. If something happened to him when he is not at fault, then…"

"Then what?" Natalia slowly asked as she gulped.

"Then I am going to get strong enough to topple down whoever that harmed him! I know I’ll be strong enough and catch up to front liners! It’s only a matter of time, humph!"

"…"

Dagon and Sabrina weakly smiled. It was shocking to them to see Lily like this, and they could feel that if something bad happened to Almond, Lily would indeed follow up with what she said.

This daughter of theirs could become very stubborn.

"Relax, Lily," Sabrina said as she gently smiled. "Since you like him so much, then we won’t just ignore his plight."

Dagon nodded with a smile, "Don’t worry, his calling to the GAA headquarters won’t put him in danger. I will personally accompany him if he gets called. I’m sure I’ll get the order to escort him if he ever gets one."

Natalia thought of something and said, "If they can watch various spots in the Labyrinth using Arcane Eyes, then won’t they know about Almond’s skills? Is that why you said he will be called not for the punishment, but…for recruitment?"

"Since he killed those three, I believe he will have to go through some questioning and tests," Sabrina said. "Grand Admiral is someone who nurtures talents, but he is a righteous man. He needs to see if Almond won’t stray to the wrong path."

"So that’s why…" Lily sat down and slumped back on the couch with relief before she grinned. "That’s good to hear. Almond is more level-headed than me, that’s for sure."

"True, he even spared that piece of trash because killing him would indirectly harm the innocents," Natalia said as her expression turned foul. "I still feel hate towards that bastard. I wish he’d drop dead as soon as possible."

"Consider him dead," Sabrina said, her demeanor turning cold. "Based on what you said about that incident, I’m pretty sure Arcane Eyes were also deployed in that area, at least, I hope so."

"True," Dagon nodded, "If an Arcane Eye captured that incident, and they see how Almond handled it, he will get plus points in old man Rudra’s eyes. That’s a decision that I might not have been able to make if I was in his shoes."

"During our time in the middle floors, after people were used to the Labyrinth and new changes, many killings happened," Sabrina sighed and shook her head. "Anyway, don’t worry about Almond. You focus on your departure after two days."

"Okay, but I got his back, and you got mine, so we have to work this out. I am really looking forward to life now."

"We got it," Sabrina gently smiled.

Suddenly, Dagon’s phone rang. Seeing who it was, Dagon was surprised and walked away, "Mr. Han?"

"You two want to eat first or get freshen up before eating?"

"I want to take a bath," Natalia said as she sniffed hard and her nose scrumped up. "We are a bit smelly right now."

Sabrina chuckled, "Alright then, go and take a shower. I’ll lay out the food on the table."

"Thanksies, Aunt Sabrina."

Lily also got up and yawned as she stretched her arms and left, going upstairs after Natalia.

"Lily," Sabrina called out.

Lily stopped in the middle of the stairs and turned to her mother, "What?"

"I’m proud of you."

"Mhmm," Lily grinned and nodded. "Me too, of you both."

After Lily left, Dagon returned and said, "We need to go to the GAA branch."

"Who’s coming?" Sabrina asked, already guessing the matter.

"Mr. Han and two others. It’s just a normal visit, but I am curious as to why they were here. Were you informed?"

"Nope. It must be a guild-related matter, but since he contacted us, then we’ll find out soon. Let’s go."

"If it’s a guild matter in this city, then it should be only one," Dagon raised his eyebrows. "Wildhunt Guild."

"Yep, that’s why we have to get some information from him. Draven must be going insane with his son missing, and I’m positive he talked to Mr. Han about this if they went to visit his guild."

The two of them left and met up with the GAA members.

Draven’s party invitation was also sent to the Darkwood family, who received it shortly after they finished talking with Mr. Han and his small entourage.

"Draven invited us for lunch in the morning," Dagon’s one eyebrow raised, feeling weird. "What’s going on?"

"He must want to investigate on his own," Sabrina read the invitation. "It seems this is sent to families of all students who went to the Labyrinth."

Looking at Dagon, she said, "Draven is a frontline adventurer…but not a good one. He will try to do anything to get information, even if he has to kill innocents for it."

"That won’t happen anymore," Dagon grunted coldly. "I won’t allow him to be rampant anymore. Times have changed."

The sky turned fully dark after a few hours, and before midnight arrived, Wildhunt Guild members started leaving the Labyrinth as the exit portal was about to close.

Draven was waiting with antsy feeling as he couldn’t wait to hear from the guild members who went to investigate about his son.

He personally heard reports from every single person for three hours straight, but he couldn’t get much information.

Over a hundred Adventurers had gone and spawned in all eight starting areas randomly as they only focused on searching, essentially exploring the entire floor during those five hours.

But nobody found Jacob or anything related to him, making Draven mad as he drank himself to sleep drinking a wine made from rare-grade resources.

"Tomorrow….Rufus, I want all the information…"

"I’ll prepare everything. You go sleep now, you need it."
