I’ll Become a Villainess That Will Go Down in History

Chapter 416

I promised to protect Gilles. I couldn’t fight him.

A thin mist appeared, and I stared into it. I could see that it was a man.

He was slowly approaching me. I reflexively braced myself.

I never knew when or where the attack would come from. He was planning to kill me. I must always be on my guard.

“…You’re lying.”

My eyes widened at the person who appeared in front of me.

“Why…?” I remain frozen in place, staring at him, forgetting to blink.

“Uncle Will,” I muttered in a slightly trembling voice.

The sight of him, whom I had not seen in a long time, made me want to run and hug him.

But I held back the urge.

Uncle Will, that I saw in my eyes, seemed to be in good health. It was hard to believe that he had suffered from the spotted disease. It may be no surprise, though, since it was an illusion.

Still, I was happy to see Uncle Will in good health.

He exuded the same kindness and warmth as always. The golden eyes in his left eye reflected my stunned image.

“Alicia,” a soft voice echoed in my ears.

I almost cried at the sound of his voice. Uncle Will was the one who always had my back, the one who was so important to me.

Without Uncle Will, I would not be here. He was my mentor who taught me so many things, and he was like an irreplaceable family member.

…Did it want me to fight against him?

“I, I can’t fight against Uncle Will.”

I said confused.

Uncle Will’s expression became a little complicated at those words.

“If you don’t beat me, you’ll never get out of here. And you won’t be able to grow up.”

“But…”

Why must fate be so cruel?

I would like to get out of this place and become stronger. I would do anything to become the person I wanted to be. That was what being a villainess was all about.

But with Uncle Will, it was a different story.

“Come at me with the intent to kill me. Besides, I seem to be able to use magic here. You should not go easy on me.”

“…I am honored to be able to receive the magic of someone who is said to be a genius.”

I managed to show strength, trying to be my normal self.

Uncle Will being able to use magic…. It was my ideal. I always thought it was a wish that would never come true, but in this place, it happened so easily.

I had always admired Uncle Will’s wealth of knowledge, his astounding wisdom, his ability to always see things from a bird’s-eye view, his extraordinary listening skills, his ability to stay calm and solve problems, no matter what happened.

He had a tragic past, but he never showed it.

…I was surely hoping to be like him someday.

I wondered if that was the reason why my opponent was Uncle Will…. I would have preferred Gilles. I could have easily accepted defeat against Gilles.

However, against Uncle Will, I wanted to win.

“Please don’t go easy on me either, Uncle Will.”

I raised a smile and looked him straight in the eye.
