Chapter 295: New Rooms, Back On Track

Gunther\'s room was reminiscent of an ice castle, with Arrays that rained a light snow on command from within the room. His room was very cold, but the temperature could be adjusted to a normal level in case he had a "special visitor" at night and he wanted them to be comfortable.

In addition to these Arrays, William knew that Gunther was very interested like the rest in learning Arrays of his own, so he added a few Ice-Magic specific Arrays from the Basic to the Advanced level, which he left for Gunther to decipher himself.

It turned out that Gunther also liked Blacksmithing, but he didn\'t learn this until after showing Gunther the room, so William offered to teach him some things whenever he had a chance.

After showing him how to use the thermostat, William went off to show Charlotte to her bedroom, which was a miniature version of the picture book she showed him. Her bed floated in the center of the room, hovering perfectly in place while Gravity Arrays made it possible to reach the bed in a single leap.

Her walls were painted with life-like clouds while the ceiling was covered in a few small dots that Charlotte didn\'t know the purpose of. When William turned the light off, however, the dots suddenly lit up and the ceiling turned into a vibrant galaxy that made Charlotte\'s eyes glitter with excitement.

"I\'ve never seen anything like this, how did you come up with such beautiful stars?" she asked. .net

William shrugged his shoulders. "I saw them myself."

"Really? Where?" Charlotte\'s eyes sparkled as she drew close to William and grabbed his hands with excitement.

"Far away, maybe I\'ll take you there someday." William replied wistfully.

Charlotte smiled, "I\'d love that."

William dropped off a few optional study materials pertaining to the Life Element for Charlotte, then returned to the hallway where Carl was waiting.

"Are you ready to see your room?" William asked.

Carl nodded, "I can\'t believe you made all these in just a few hours. Are you a master craftsman as well?"

"Haha." William scratched his head awkwardly. Technically Carl wasn\'t wrong, since William had the Carpentry Talent.

He led Carl to his room, then gave him a key that would let him go in and out whenever he felt like it. Only he and William had access to his own room, and he would need to approve anyone else that wanted to go inside. It was a great security feature that William had put into every room.

William stayed back while Carl fitted the key into his door, then watched as the man opened the door to reveal the interior.

"This..." Carl was speechless.

"You like it? I knew you would, it fits you perfectly." William asked with a light smile.

"WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS, WILLIAM?!?" Carl yelled out with undisguised fury in his voice.

"No need to act so excited, are you saying that you love it, then?" William\'s smile grew wider.

"It\'s PINK! Everything is pink!" Carl lamented as he scanned the interior of the room for something that wasn\'t dyed the color pink. He couldn\'t find anything!

"What\'s wrong with pink? It\'s a manly color. I\'d wear it myself, even." William shrugged.

"You bastard. So you want to tell me those unicorn pillows are also "manly", huh?" Carl\'s eye twitched.

"Of course, they\'re a mythical and majestic being, rarely seen in the World these days, right?" William said as he started closing Carl\'s door.

Carl grabbed the door with one hand, keeping it wide open as he looked at William. "You better fix it."

"Sorry, I\'m out of Mana. I\'ll make you a new one tomorrow maybe." William pried away Carl\'s fingers and pulled the door again.

"You mother fu-" Carl didn\'t get to finish his sentence as the door slammed shut, the excellent soundproofing muting his voice in an instant.

William adjusted the Arrays to keep Carl from leaving his room or bathroom for the next 12 hours, then smiled to himself as he walked to his own bedroom.

Even the System couldn\'t hold back a snort upon seeing Carl\'s reaction to his bedroom. Its connection to William was severed briefly before returning, but he could sense that the System was laughing. It was his first time sensing such an intense feeling from the System, which made William smile.

All jokes aside, William had a lot of work to do before the next day, so he didn\'t have time to catch up with Sir Reynolds on the status of the Ruins itself. He sat at an ornately crafted wooden desk, scribbling with a graphite pencil he made to draw out blueprints of his next projects.

William knew that being at the supposed "peak of the World" was just the beginning. In his short adventure outside the Ruins, he had discovered that the incredibly talented Cultivators he saw before weren\'t as rare as he initially thought.

The quality of Cultivators overall was improving drastically, and the System wouldn\'t give him a definite answer why. Not only this, but the Heavens were still looming overhead, and he wasn\'t confident that being on Efretta would save him from their wrath.

For all he knew, they could descend and wipe him out in an instant.

To get his schedule back on track, William started with a simple four hours of Cultivation after drafting out his plans. He wanted to increase his Cultivation Base just a little bit to feel some progress after weeks of barely Cultivating at all.

The maximum storage of his Dantian had increased from 100 thousand to 500 thousand Spirit Qi, but along with the increased storage came the greatly increased cost to reach the next stage in his Realm.

To reach the second level of Core Formation, William would need fifteen thousand Spirit Qi, which was quite a bit more than previously. Even with the 119300 Spirit Qi stored up, William guessed that he wouldn\'t be able to reach the Golden Core Realm without Cultivating more.

What was interesting to him, though, was that the System said there were ten stages in the Core Formation Realm. This was different from the three stages William had read before, but it made sense after a quick explanation from the System.

The first three stages were the same as the Empty Core Realm, while stages four through six were the Void Core and stages seven through nine were the True Core.

The tenth stage was yet another "optional" stage that would cost a lot more Spirit Qi but would allow one to Cultivate the Heavenly Core if they hadn\'t taken the previous Tribulation before reaching the peak of the Foundation Establishment Realm.

To William, of course, optional meant required when it came down to his strength. The only reason anyone would avoid Cultivating a Heavenly Core was because they were either inexperienced, impatient, or too old and desperate to extend their lifespan.
