Infinite Potential System

Chapter 318: Interrupted Hunting, Endless Tribulations?

If he factored in the week spent refining Pills and accepting Heavenly Tribulations, his Potential Farms had earned him another 31500 Points by themselves!

POTENTIAL POINTS: 150,733

Alchemy is pretty good money. William exclaimed. It was too bad that the Tribulations would increase in power with the Tier of the Pill.

He had already refined all of the Tier 1 and 2 Pills possible, and there were only a few Tier 3 Pills remaining. After that, William would need to handle Tier 4 Pills, which would start getting expensive.

He looked back over at the four Beasts, which seemed hard at work unsealing Gu Dianlong\'s Enslavement Array. They should have been done by now, but William had given them a few breaks in between to rest up and do other things.

They were overlords of their own respective areas, after all. They couldn\'t just drop everything all at once, that wouldn\'t make sense. There were subordinates in the Providence Zone that would frequently stop by to issue their concerns and territorial issues, but the subordinates were suspicious of William and Gu Dianlong and wanted to talk in a separate location.

With the extra time, William decided to spend it experimenting with new Magic Spells and making use of some of his lesser-known Elements such as Seal and Death. He wanted to become more versatile in how he used his Magic, not limited to just a few key combinations.

In another section of the Providence Zone, Fria and Elder Fan were forced to stop killing Magical Beasts when they saw a massive red Tribulation cloud form above their heads.

"What is that, Elder Fan? I\'ve never seen a red Tribulation before." Fria asked.

"T-That\'s... a Superior Tribulation." Elder Fan could barely conceal his surprise. He didn\'t know which Magical Beast was taking the Tribulation Right now, but clearly the Heavens did not permit it.

"What is that?" Fria asked again, more interested than before. She looked to the sky in awe, inspecting every minute detail of the Tribulation that carried a unique aura that seemed more like a living being than a Tribulation Cloud.

Elder Fan explained what he knew about Superior Tribulations, including how they were formed and the abysmal survival rate of anyone unlucky enough to attempt one. Only when he was finished did he explain to Fria that was the reason why one should never attempt to disperse a Heavenly Tribulation.

Fria nodded. She didn\'t have a death wish unlike the unknown Magical Beast.

They continued to hunt Beasts on the edge of the Providence Zone, but over time the number of nearby enemies increased to a level they couldn\'t handle anymore. The Superior Tribulation had forced many of the higher-level Beasts out of their territories and now they were invading her hunting grounds.

They were eventually forced out of the Providence Zone, so they waited until the Superior Tribulation killed the challenger before re-entering.

They only had to wait a few minutes, a massive Tribulation Lightning Bolt falling out of view before the clouds cleared up. The reaction was very mild, so they assumed that whoever took the test failed horribly, but they didn\'t bother to investigate and returned to the hunting area.

Her System wasn\'t like William\'s and didn\'t inform her what type of Magical Beast she had killed. If she wanted to learn more about it, she would need to unlock the Bestiary function, which in her case required her to discover one hundred unique Magical Beasts and then she would need to pay Potential Points for the function itself.

It wasn\'t nearly as streamlined as what William got, but she didn\'t mind since it was just a game. If she had questions about a Magical Beast, Elder Fan was more than happy enough to help.

When she and Elder Fan moved on to the next area, however, they were interrupted by yet another Superior Tribulation. The familiar red clouds covered the sky just like before, darkening half the Providence Zone and filling the nearby Magical Beasts with immense fear.

Fria and Elder Fan retreated again, but they were forced to move even further back as the previously calm Magical Beasts left the Providence Zone and ran towards other regions. The Yu Royal Family was forced to send their most powerful bodyguards to defend against an ad-hoc Beast Tide, which made up for its small quantity with great quality. Stay connected with mvl

Soul Formation Magical Beasts shattered the initial barrier and flooded the Yu Royal Family\'s residence, only stopped briefly by the second and third barriers. It would be multiple hours before they cleared up the situation.

"Another Superior Tribulation? Did two Magical Beasts make the Heavens mad at the same time?" Fria asked Elder Fan, who shook his head.

"I don\'t know, miss Fria. I\'ve never seen this before."

They decided to rest for a bit and wait an extra hour after the Tribulation ended, but it wasn\'t long before a third Superior Tribulation activated, stunning the two silent.

Three, four, five Tribulations later, and they had become completely numb to the event. Whatever it was, they wouldn\'t find out until after the clouds dissipated, so Fria and Elder Fan slept through the night in a small cave above.

Even as morning came, the Tribulations still continued. Fria\'s community forums were flooded with messages and speculation on who or what could be angering the Heavens, many of which immediately pointed fingers at NPC William, who always seemed to be at the center of trouble.

The theories didn\'t seem to be unfounded, either, since NPC William was spotted in Retribution\'s Headquarters by a few players that had been recruited. There was a good chance the theories were actually true.

"Elder Fan, what do you think of that William person?" Fria asked suddenly.

"William? You should stay away from him. I heard he\'s a very bloodthirsty individual that wouldn\'t hesitate to kill someone in a heartbeat." Elder Fan warned.

"Hmm..." Fria didn\'t know what to say. She knew Elder Fan meant well, but she remembered clearly that the person had opened his Life Domain just to save her. What kind of bloodthirsty person would do that?

He wasn\'t a criminal either, since William had showed up to the Elemental Beast Tide multiple times outside Blue Moon City. Sometimes he even concealed his identity, as if he didn\'t want others to know this personality of his.

And every time I think of him, something in my head feels fuzzy. It\'s as if I\'m trying to remember something, which has always felt weird to me. He\'s even made me cry a few times...

But it\'s just a game, how could Fria feel that way about a digital character? It didn\'t make sense at all.

I think the best way to find out is to actually meet with him, without a mask on this time.
