Infinite Potential System

Chapter 320: More Hatching

The eight cloaked men all nodded their heads in acceptance. It was a fair deal for sure, but some of them still had intentions to escape at a moment’s notice.

"And just in case you’re thinking of escaping..." William raised a finger and created a Tier 6 Tracking Array, attaching one to each of the old men in quick succession.

They each sensed the immense power associated with the Tier 6 Array, one of which they had never seen before. It was clearly stronger than a Complete Array that only a few people in the World had the ability to create, but they had no idea how such a young man as William had reached such a level.

Was he a reincarnated God of some sort? It would explain many unknowns.

Thinking this made each of the Region Leaders abandon any thoughts of betraying William’s trust. Even if they managed to break free from the Enslavement Arrays, the Tracking Array would lead him right to them, and no one was confident in taking on William alone.

Even as a group, they were useless. What would happen a few years from now when William had improved even more? They didn’t want to think about it.

William didn’t have time to apply the Enslavement Arrays to each Region Leader, so he asked them to behave and rebound them, leaving the cloud of Illusion Mana active while he spoke with his Companion Beasts.

Since Gu Dianlong had already been freed, he saw no reason to make the four Divine Beasts remain by his side, so he sent them back to guard their respective sections of the Providence Zone, while the Flame Dragon was allowed to go off on his own once more.

Atticus wanted to take out some Magical Beast Tides, so William went with him towards Blue Moon City and informed the Mayor of Atticus’ participation. Only once William returned to the Providence Zone did he lie down for some rest.

It had been a long few days, but they were also very productive. Overall, it made William surprisingly hungry.

I still have that Spirit Cookware Set that I’ve barely used. Let’s see what I can make now.

He pushed the Cooking Talent from C-Rank all the way to S-Rank just for fun since it only cost a bit over a thousand Potential Points, then experimented with a set of spices he had while slow-roasting some Sandicore Thigh.

Simultaneously, William brought out some Mana-infused carrots and steamed them with a mix of traditional peas and corn, then cut up the spiced roasted Sandicore Thigh into small chunks and added it to the rest.

With a bit of broth, William was able to turn the entire dish into a delicious soup that made his mouth water with delight. Experiences like this made him miss the Wild Clover Restaurant from the Five Elements Sect, even if his Cooking Talent had far surpassed any normal chef’s ability.

With the Talent at S-Rank, William didn’t even have a problem cooking Spirit Food, which granted him short-term bonuses to his Mana Regeneration and even natural recovery. Perhaps with stronger foods, William could take this to a whole new level.

"Ahhh, so good. I need to do this more often." William drank the broth and sat down his bowl with a clang.

He looked through the System Panel.

POTENTIAL POINTS: 149483

I should put most of these into hatching Beasts that can deal with the Beast Tides, though I’m going to need to be more efficient than I was with the Chasm Guards. Stay updated via мѵʟ

He created a duplicate version of the same map in his possession, then marked down only the locations of the Veins he had come in contact with. With his impressive memory, this much was easy.

Next came the difficult part, math.

Even with the help of the System, William couldn’t quite figure out what level of Companion Beast and how many were needed for each specific Beast Tide, since he had to factor in many details that quickly became expensive through the Ask Function.

Not only would he have to pay attention to how large the resulting Beast Tide would be, but he also needed to think of frequency, how large an area his Companions would need to defend, and even whether or not other Cultivators would get in the way.

In the end, William realized that his plan would never be foolproof, and mostly because of the presence of other Cultivators. All it took was one powerful Soul Formation or Tribulation Transcendence Cultivator to be in a bad mood and wipe out all his Companions, and that would spell doom for the entire area for the next Beast Tide.

This wouldn’t be as prevalent for the Superior Cores, since William would assign many powerful Beasts to defending those and they wouldn’t nearly be as susceptible to Cultivators, but the weaker ones were the most complicated to handle.

I think the best way for now is to have one very powerful Magical Beast each in charge of a Region of the Continent. After that, I can assign more and more leaders that will be available in case any one area has trouble.

I still want to keep Atticus and Uri around, but I think the other four can keep doing what they do now for the time being. I can’t make them any stronger, but they can lead their own team to deal with the Tides alone.

With a simple plan in mind, William got to work. Since he liked the Black Turtle Hatchling the most, he started with that.

System, I’d like to purchase nine Black Turtle Hatchling eggs from the shop. William said.

-Select the Rarity of the eggs you’d like to hatch.

I’ll go with Rare this time.

-Total cost will be 180 Potential Points. Confirm?

Confirm.

-Would you like to hatch your Eggs now? Total hatching cost will be nine hundred Potential Points.

Yes.

Just like with the Chasm Guards, nine small black and dark blue eggs identical in nature appeared in front of William, then glowed simultaneously as cracks formed on their surface. From them, nine tiny turtles that looked just like Kamei burst forth, making light chirping noises out of stress while looking for their mother.

William reached out to touch each one of them, to which they all felt his imprint and registered him as the mother. They paddled forward with their little legs, looking up to William while wagging their small tails.

He picked each of them up and held them across his arms as if he was a log for them to climb on. They were all so small, barely even a few centimeters in diameter, so William had to be very careful not to let them fall off.

He used the Wind Element to gently keep them stable, admiring the cute little things for a moment before setting them back down on the ground.
