Chapter 302: 301, you bastard

Chapter 302: 301, you bastard

Both Wen Ran and Bai Xiaoxiao were shocked by the voice that came from the doorway.

Accompanied by the rich scent of flowers, Bai Xiaoxiao looked up to see Luo Haofeng walking gracefully in, holding a bouquet of flowers.

He was holding the flowers rather than cradling them.

With one hand in his pocket and a smile on his face, he looked nonchalant and charming.

“Luo Haofeng, what’s this charade all about?”

Wen Ran’s gaze swept across the flowers quivering in Luo Haofeng’s hand.

With a raised eyebrow and a smile, Luo Haofeng sniffed the flowers, saying, “A few days ago, Bai Xiaoxiao was wrapped up like a dumpling, it didn’t seem appropriate to send her flowers. Now that at least her whole face is visible, I, being generous, bought a bunch when I passed by a flower shop seeing a poor florist girl with no customers.”

Wen Ran silently looked up at the ceiling.

Bai Xiaoxiao pouted, “Even now that my entire face is showing, I’m still not worthy of your flowers. Better give them to some other beauty.”

What kind of a person is he, obviously here to add to her distress.

He actually said she was wrapped up like a dumpling a few days ago. Was there ever such a beautiful dumpling? Even if her injury was serious and she didn’t look as pretty as before, she was still a human being after all.

Luo Haofeng frowned, “The beauties I know don’t like flowers. They prefer jewelry, diamonds, and such. Bai Xiaoxiao, I figured you’re unique, so I decided to give you these flowers.”

Wen Ran couldn’t stand it any longer. He rose, snatched the flowers from Luo Haofeng, and shoved the bowl of porridge into his hands, ordering, “You feed Xiaoxiao the porridge. I’ll fetch a vase for these flowers.”

With that, she walked out of the sickroom briskly with the bouquet, providing no opportunity for Bai Xiaoxiao to refuse or Luo Haofeng to protest.

Luo Haofeng looked at Bai Xiaoxiao, and after a few seconds, sat leisurely on the edge of the bed under her angry gaze.

“Why are you sitting here? Sit on the chair.”

Bia Xiaoxiao protested unhappily.

“That chair has been sat on by Wen Ran, and it still holds her warmth. Mo Xiuchen would be jealous if he found out.”

Luo Haofeng’s innocent response coupled with the playful smile on his face suggested he was asking for a rebuke. Glancing at Bai Xiaoxiao’s head, he casually remarked, “You’re looking a lot better today than you were a few days ago.”

Bai Xiaoxiao rolled her eyes and reached out with her left hand to take the bowl from him, “Give it to me.”

With a casual dodge, Luo Haofeng avoided her hand, “Wen Ran asked me to feed you this bowl of porridge, so don’t squirm around. I’ve never fed a woman in my life, but don’t worry, I can handle it. Because, I’ve fed horses before.”

He deliberately slowed down the latter half of his sentence, his flirty, narrow eyes sparkling with mischief.

Bai Xiaoxiao’s face changed, and she was about to snap at him, but suddenly burst out with laughter, “Luo Haofeng, are you resentful because you couldn’t handle being a groom a few times? And you’re comparing me to a horse? So how did it feel to force a kiss on a horse?”

Luo Haofeng’s expression abruptly changed.

The thought of an image of himself forcibly kissing a horse bizarrely surfaced in his mind.

“Let me think for a moment, the elegant and illustrious Young Master Luo couldn’t even find a woman and was so thirsty that he had to resort to forcefully kissing a horse?”

“Are you admitting that you’re a horse?”

Luo Haofeng’s face went through several quick changes, then spooned a mouthful of porridge into Bai Xiaoxiao’s mouth, and leisurely remarked, “The term ‘horse’ sounds unpalatable, let’s call it ‘mare’ instead!”

“Luo Haofeng, you bastard!”

Enraged, Bai Xiaoxiao cursed, and slapped away the spoonful of porridge.

This time, Luo Haofeng didn’t dodge, getting splattered by the porridge. The porridge spilled onto the quilt, his clothes, and even his handsome face, which had been sporting a bright smile just a moment ago.

“Bai Xiaoxiao, have you gone mad!”

He glared angrily at Bai Xiaoxiao, who pursed her lips and glared back at him.

Setting down the bowl of porridge, Luo Haofeng pulled out a tissue to wipe his face. He was about to wipe the porridge off the quilt when he saw Bai Xiaoxiao’s face turn pale, a faint sweat breaking out on her forehead, and the pain visible despite her clenched lips.

His heart skipped a beat, and his face changed abruptly, “Bai Xiaoxiao, what’s wrong with you?”

Bai Xiaoxiao felt dizzy, her eyelids heavy. She opened her mouth to say something but only managed a single ‘I’ before her eyes closed and she slumped down.

Luo Haofeng caught her before she hit the bed, yelling in panic, “Bai Xiaoxiao, wake up. How can you faint so easily?”

Wen Ran had just arrived at Gu Kai’s office and planned to pick up a vase for the flowers in her hand.

Yet as soon as she reached the door, Gu Kai opened it.

“Older Brother Gu…”

“Ranran, Bai Xiaoxiao has fainted.”

Gu Kai glanced at the bouquet in her hand and said with a worried look, Luo Haofeng had overstepped his boundaries.

The flowers fell out of Wen Ran’s hand and she grabbed Gu Kai’s hand tightly, “Older Brother Gu, Xiaoxiao was fine just now, how could she faint?”

Gu Kai’s eyes flickered, “It was Ah Feng. He said something that made Bai Xiaoxiao angry, which stirred up her wound. Don’t worry, there’s no big issue, Bai Xiaoxiao will be fine.”

Wen Ran looked pale, she raised her hand and slapped herself on the head, “It’s all my fault. I should not have let Luo Haofeng feed Xiaoxiao the porridge.”

Gu Kai hesitated for a moment, then frowned, “Ranran, it’s not your fault, don’t hit your head.”

To her relief, Bai Xiaoxiao was not seriously affected. She just fainted due to the pain caused by the sudden physical exertion.

Seeing Luo Haofeng’s regretful face, Wen Ran held back her scolding words.

In the end, she simply said, “Don’t show up before Xiaoxiao is discharged. I don’t want today’s situation to happen again.”

She had meant well to arrange some alone time for him and Xiaoxiao.

But he ended up making her faint.

Luo Haofeng frowned deeply, staring at Xiaoxiao, who was still unconscious, ruffling his hair, “How was I supposed to know she was so fragile? I just said a few words.”

“She is a patient.”

Mo Xiuchen interrupted Luo Haofeng, “Cheng Jia has arrived at the hotel, head there now. Today’s dinner arrangements are your responsibility.”

Luo Haofeng wanted to protest, but when he thought of the still unconscious Bai Xiaoxiao, whom he’d upset, he swallowed down his words and turned to Wen Ran, “You take care of Bai Xiaoxiao. When she wakes up, apologize on my behalf.”

Luo Haofeng, it seemed, was the kind of man who seldom apologized, especially to women.

This was very awkward coming from him.

Wen Ran nodded, “Alright!”

She knew Luo Haofeng was a bristly-mouthed man but not really a bad guy. Yet everytime he met Xiaoxiao, arguments ensued. She was quite puzzled about it, wondering if it was just a case of incompatible temperament.
