Chapter 328: Zhuang Heng, Your Brains Are Fried
“You saw it?” Jerry snickered contemptuously.
‘Who in their right mind would place the flag in such a place?’
Yan Jinyi nodded with great composure. “Yes.”
Everyone present was puzzled and Jerry almost lost his temper right there and then.
“Since you saw it, why didn’t you say so earlier?”
He was furious at the fact that she had caused them to waste so much time and effort on climbing up to the top to crack the code.
Yan Jinyi spread her hands apart and shrugged her shoulders nonchalantly. “Well, at least I did you a favor and gave you the chance to crack the code.”
“What about the one you cracked?”
Yan Jinyi looked at Jerry as if she was looking at an idiot. “Didn’t I already mention earlier that it’s on the cliff?”
“…”
Jerry felt a strong impulse to strangle Yan Jinyi to death.
‘Talking to her is too tiring. Why does it seem like she’s playing me?’
“Jinyi, I’m at least the captain of our team now. I know you are curious about this place, but it’s quite dangerous here. You…”
Jerry began nagging again and just as he turned around in bid to reprimand Yan Jinyi, he saw that she had already put on the safety harness and leaped downwards without hesitation.
‘She leaped off right in front of me. Has she got a death wish? Does she really think she’s skilled enough to jump off just like that?’
The other crew members were flabbergasted to see that and their expressions changed drastically before dashing towards the cliff.
They thought that Yan Jinyi was hanging in midair and waiting for someone to rescue her but the moment they poked their heads out, they saw that she had already gotten the flag and was now sliding downwards effortlessly.
“I heard that this girl has good combat skills. Previously, she was praised by the police for doing justice and getting rid of evil. It seems that she’s good at other stuff too.” The veteran actor Zhang Ge sighed and remarked, “Young people these days are brilliant.”
After saying that, he tugged the rope and slid down slowly too.
Jerry secretly gritted his teeth. The program production team decided to make him a resident guest for the next few episodes if he was well received. However, if Yan Jinyi kept outshining him all the time, they obviously wouldn’t spend that extra amount of money.
He had finally gotten the opportunity to shine and make a name for himself after putting in so much effort, so he had to grasp it.
‘Hmph, when it gets even darker at night, I doubt Yan Jinyi would still be able to stay so calm in this secluded wilderness.’
Soon after they returned to the base camp, Zhuang Heng’s team did too. Everyone was carrying some things in their arms.
Upon sight of Yan Jinyi, Zhuang Heng’s eyes lit up and he scurried over quickly. “Little pepper, look, these are some wild mushrooms that I specifically picked for you. The production team has given us a pot, I’ll make you some mushroom soup, alright?”
Yan Jinyi glanced at the colorful mushrooms in his arms and pursed her lips in disdain. “Zhuang Heng, are your brains fried? Didn’t your teacher teach you not to pick wild mushrooms back when you were in school?”
Zhuang Heng tilted his head and said, “I’ve learned that before. These mushrooms seem pretty normal to me, they look more or less the same as the edible ones. They’re definitely not poisonous.”
“…”
‘How did this guy manage to live to this age? It’s a surprise he hasn’t die of poisoning yet!’
“Little pepper…”
“You either throw these mushrooms away, or give me the cell phone.”
Zhuang Heng asked with a puzzled expression, “What do you want the phone for?”
“To delete my number from your phone.”
Zhuang Heng immediately dropped the mushrooms in his arms and asked, “Little pepper, are you hungry or not? I secretly hid two chocolate bars in my pocket, shall we have one each?”
As Zhuang Heng spoke, he took out two bars of chocolate in front of everyone.
“Zhuang Heng, you cheated. The rules state that we can’t bring snacks!”
Du Xian couldn’t help but interject when he saw that.
Zhuang Heng glared at him and retorted, “It’s none of your business. You’re just too stupid not to hide it.”
Du Xian felt a little embarrassed to have received such a cold reply.
The idol group he was in was only a temporary group that would be active for a limited period of time. Once they were disbanded, many of them would likely face unemployment, so many of the members of the group had begun their endeavors in the acting industry.
Zhuang Heng was the ‘Best Actor’ award-winner and a top actor of the entertainment industry. If he got close to Zhuang Heng…
