Chapter 78 - Homonculus

Now, the person that Lucas was facing became clear. He looked like a human, and all of his organs did resemble a human, but Lucas just could not confirm it.

"How the hell does he not have a heart beat? And what is with his eyes? They have no emotion whatsoever.

"He is not human for sure.", Fenrir said.

"Then what is he? I cannot feel the power of a god completely within him. It is like a lot of powers were mashed together, and a little of that mixture was poured into this one person. I can\'t put a finger on it, but his powers were not granted powers by any god. He acquired them through whatever way, and it just scares me to think that more of these people can pop up out of nowhere.", Lucas wondered out loud.

The man himself was rugged. The muscles were developed and placed to a level of perfection. In fact, the best way to describe this person was a man of perfection. Everything about him was perfect. That could be said, because he was, unfortunately, also quite naked.

"Why the hell is he not wearing anything? Does he have no shame? Even I, in the middle of a fight, would rather die wearing clothes, than win without.", Lucas raged.

"That is because you humans care too much about what others say. This one here clearly does not. Like I said. He is not a human.", Fenrir said.

Lucas was down on all fours, and he was still in his wolf form. He glared at the man with unblinking red eyes.

"Where is his weak point? He is just standing like that, but I cannot see any glaring places that he cannot reach to protect.", Lucas said.

"You are the red wolf. Just freaking attack him already.", Fenrir said.

Lucas growled, and he punched on the man. His fangs were wide open, and his claws bared. Lucas scratched towards the man, and he also tried to bite the neck.

The man, who was unmoving till now, moved his right hand with breathtaking speeds and blocked the jaw. He then moved his left hand to block the claws, but the claws still scratched the man\'s hands.

The man did not even change his expression, as he moved his left hand, and pushed Lucas away.

Lucas fell on the ground, but his eyes were fixated on where he scratched the man.

"He isn\'t a human alright, He has metal for blood. That wasn\'t the smell of human blood. That was liquid metal pulsing through his veins. He is an artificial human. No wonder she contacted a Doctor something. She succeeded in creating a homunculus.", Lucas exclaimed.

"A homunculus? Wasnt that like a human goal to create another human from scratch?", Fenrir asked.

"No. It was to create another being altogether. It was to prove that we could be gods as well. I don\'t know why the quest still continued, but it is clear that it has come to fruition.", Lucas pointed towards the man, or rather the homunculus.

"Well, that explains the lack of expression, pain, and well, his eyes.", Fenrir said.

Lucas nodded as he retreated back. Right in the position that he was standing, a huge piece of the ground caved in. The homunculus was standing on top of this newly created crater.

"Whoever made this building, they did a jolly good job alright. Look at this. The floor is so thick. There is such a big crater, yet the floor is not even shaking.", Lucas exclaimed.

"That is what you care about right now? I am really reconsidering the Marquess\' offer. At the very least, I will be able to enjoy seeing her figure every day.", Fenrir commented.

"Alright, alright. I will take this seriously.", Lucas nodded as he clenched his paws. He looked at the homunculus, who was getting ready for another attack. The moment that the homunculus jumped, Lucas ran forward. He was under the homunculus within moments, and he jumped up to intercept the homonculus.

Mid air, the homunculus was unable to move. He raised his hands to defend Lucas\' upcoming jaws. But Lucas saw this coming, clearly, because his jump was higher than where the homunculus was mid air.

Lucas was above the homunculus, and he used the paws to slam him on to the ground.

Cracking sounds came from the homonculus\' body. Lucas looked down to see what was going on. There were shards of skin, that was right, shards of skin that fell off the body, and that was being repaired almost instantaneously.

"And of course this one also gets regenerative powers. It is as if werewolves are being found in too many droves, for them to be used as base material for so many things.", Lucas sighed.

Lucas quickly retreated from the scene. He did not attack again for some reason, and Fenrir was clearly angry about that.

"You had the perfect chance to just bite his head off, you idiot. Why did you leave that golden opportunity?", Fenrir raged.

"Because if he recovered even a millisecond before I break his neck, then I will be lying dead, and half the gods in the world will be in New York.", Lucas said.

"What did you just say?", Fenrir asked.

"I would be lying dead.", Lucas relied.

"No, after that.", Fenrir asked again.

"Half the... half the gods in the world would be in New York.", Lucas said, his voice trailing away.
