Chapter 346 - Useless!
Horace looked at Calder. "Can I speak to you for a moment, bro?" he asked..
Calder nods his head. "Sure!"
Horace addressed Veronica. "Calder and I are going to talk inside. Please excuse us for a moment," he told her.
"Okay, I\'ll wait here. Please make it quick, I\'m deeply worried of Grandpa Terros\'s whereabouts! We need to find him, ASAP!" Veronica said urgently.
"Alright, this won\'t take long," Horace said.
The men went inside the hut.
"What is it?" Calder asked.
"I\'ll go alone with Veronica to check the barn," Horace said and winked.
Calder grinned. "Alright, I know what you mean. You\'re trying to get her alone. But let me come with you to the place and I\'ll return here, just in case if you can\'t come back, I know where to find you. Okay?"
Horace nodded his head. "No problem. Let\'s go!"
The men went outside.
"We will go with you to that place. Please take us there, Veronica!" Horace said eagerly.
"Okay," Veronica responded and grasped Horace\'s arm tightly.
Calder grabbed Horace\'s arm.
Together they vanished from the headquarter.
A moment later, they landed outside the barn.
Calder scanned the wooded surroundings, heightening his gaze. He\'s on alert, on the lookout for anyone that was hiding nearby. "This is a secluded place," he commented.
Horace looked at Veronica. "Is this the place where you see the coffin?" he asked.
"Yup. Let\'s go inside. There\'s a door at the back. Follow me!" Veronica said.
"Okay, after you!" the men replied in unison.
Veronica walked towards the back, they arrived at the door.
Horace signaled Calder to leave.
Calder got the cue. "Um... I\'ll take my leave now. I\'ll go back to the headquarter. Continue your investigation, guys. If Grandpa suddenly arrived there I\'ll return here to inform you rigth away," he stated.
"Okay, see you later!" Horace replied.
Calder vanished from their sight.
Horace looked at Veronica. "Let\'s get inside and check the coffin," he said and opened the door.
They stepped inside.
Veronica pointed at the coffin in the middle. "That\'s where Graven\'s scent originated from!" she said.
Horace looked at the coffin in the middle. He can already smell the lord\'s scent from their location.
They walked towards the coffin and stood beside it.
Horace was about to open the lid...
But Veronica prevented him. "No need to open the lid, it\'s empty. Your Lord\'s body is not inside," she spoke.
"But I still want to see the inside of the coffin, maybe we can gather some clues," Horace insisted.
"Alright, do what you want," Veronica said.
Horace took the lid off...
They were shocked to see a body inside and before they knew it, the hands of the body moved in lightning speed hurling the foul-smelling powder into their faces. The unexpected situation took them by surprise.
Then a net from above suddenly fell on their heads trapping them inside. They crumbled into the ground as the nauseating smell of the powder assailed their senses.
Not satisfied yet, the guy from the coffin stood up and poured more brown powder into their faces, making them lose their consciousness in split seconds before they can even think of how to get out of the dire situation. The nauseating smell of the brown powder rendering them weak and disoriented, the thought of escape was the last thing they can think of before darkness finally claimed their consciousness.
The guy peered into their faces. "We caught two more fishes! I\'m sure Madam will be happy about this!" he told his five companions.
"Are we going to continue catching more fishes?" one of the guys said.
The leader shook his head. "No. Let\'s leave this place for now. The other guy will surely return here after these two people failed to return home in time," he answered. "Tell the others to abandon this place at once!"
"How about the coffin?" one of the guys asked.
"Let\'s just leave it here. If Madam order us to remove it, then we will do as told," the leader replied. "Let\'s get moving!" he commanded.
The men in black cloaks left the place bringing their two captives with them.
Meanwhile...
Back in the vampire couple\'s mansion.
Inside the captive\'s room.
Terros was already wide awake. It only took a few seconds for him to understand how grave his situation is. His hands and feet were bound by a rope and tied to the chair. His condition won\'t be difficult if he can teleport himself back to his place or Graven\'s headquarter, but the problem is... his power is not working... dammit!
It\'s frustrating that someone had dared suppressed his power and making him powerless and useless right now.
After analyzing his situation, he can finally say that the coffin was indeed a huge trap and he fell into it blindly and stupidly.
Now the only thing he can do is wait for what these people want from him. They keep him alive which means they want something from him.
He roamed his eyes around the bare room. The chair is the only fixture in the room.
How long he will remain in this position?
How long he will stay inside this room?
His mind is full of questions. He wished the enemy will come sooner so that he will know what he\'s dealing with and come up with a solution to counter his problem.
Now that he became someone\'s else prisoner, everything is not looking good at his end.
He needs to find a way to escape this place somehow!
He began brainstorming on what he\'s going to do after he will meet the one responsible for his current condition.
A few minutes later.
The door opened and a woman and a guy wearing the same black attire entered the room.
Sylvia looked at the prisoner. "So, you\'re awake already. Good!" she said.
"W-who are you? Why are you doing this to me? Release me at once!" Terros demanded.
Sylvia glared at him. "I don\'t have to answer your inquiries old man!" she snapped at him. "And I won\'t release you until I\'m satisfied with your answer. But you have to answer my question properly if you value your life," she said, giving him a cold stare.
"What is it? Ask me right away!" Terros said.
"What are you doing inside the barn? Why did you enter my property without asking permission from the owner? What is your relation to the guy inside the coffin? Why are you looking for him?" Sylvia bombarded the prisoner with questions.
Terros stared at the woman profoundly as awareness starts to flood his mind. After the woman mentioned a guy inside the coffin, Terros had a suspicion that the woman was talking about Graven. "My Lady, can I see the guy in the coffin first before I will answer your question? Please?" he requested politely.
Sylvia smiled. "Sure..." she answered. She looked at Nathan. "Son, order our men to bring this man to your grandfather\'s room so that he can identify him," she said.
"Okay," Nathan said and went to the door. He addressed the two men waiting outside the door. "Bring the prisoner to my grandfather\'s room!" he commanded.
"Aye, my lord!" the men replied in unison and entered the room.
Sylvia watched her men carried the chair out of the room.
They entered the unconscious guy\'s room.
The moment Terros saw the sleeping guy on the bed, his heart jumped with joy. He finally found Graven at last!
Sylvia saw the happiness radiated on the old man\'s face. "So... you know this guy?" she asked.
"Yes! He\'s my master. I worked for him at his manor! We\'ve been looking everywhere for his whereabouts since the day he disappeared," Terros told her the truth.
"Oh, I see... so... tell me... this guy has a family? A wife, children, parents?" Sylvia asked.
"Yes, he\'s a family man!" Terros replied.
"Nice. What is your duty in his house?" Sylvia continues interrogating him.
"I\'m his butler," Terros lied. "Ah, my lady... may I ask you a question?" he said.
"Okay, go on, what is it?" Sylvia replied.
Confused, Terros notice something about Graven. He continue sleeping even if the room was filled with people. "Why is it that my master is not moving and not opening his eyes?" he asked worriedly.
Sylvia shrugged. "I dunno. He\'s been sleeping like that ever since we bring him here. Until now, he remained unconscious and refused to wake up!" she replied.
Terros was silent for a few minutes. He studied Graven\'s breathing, it\'s normal, he\'s still alive, but not waking up... it bothered him deeply.
Sylvia addressed the old man. "I want you to bring me to his home," she said.
Terros looked at the woman\'s face in bewilderment. "W-why?"
"Because I want to bring his whole family here, so that they can continue to live with him. They will be living with him as one family under the same roof from now on," Sylvia explained.
Terros\'s brows furrowed. "I don\'t understand. Did you mean that you have no plan to let go of my master?"
Sylvia smiled broadly. "Absolutely! And you can\'t go home too! You will stay here to continue serving your master when he wakes up!" she said.
"B-but why? We are not your enemies! Why you must keep us here against our will!?" Terros shouted.
"Because your master\'s body was chosen to be my great-great grandfather\'s vessel when he return into this world," Sylvia answered.
Terros\'s eyes widened in confusion. "What grandfather you\'re talking about?" he asked. The woman was spouting nonsense that made his head spin.
