Chapter 434: Traitor

Chu Feng was filled with killing intent—after all, he had just been lured into a trap. As it turned out, although he might have known Huang Tong for quite some time, but he had never known his true intentions. Huang Tong had initially made a good impression, so Chu Feng never suspected that he would betray him at such a critical time.

"Chu Feng, I have indeed let you down, but I didn’t have any other choice," said Huang Tong. He looked as though he was speaking from the bottom of his heart, but this only made Chu Feng loathe him even more. This man was despicable.

Huang Tong continued, "As an evolver aspiring to become an interstellar hunter, sometimes, it’s necessary to control one’s own emotions. In order to finish this mission, I had no choice but to send a native barbarian who might have become a friend to the guillotine."

The so-called interstellar hunters traveled to undeveloped and uncivilized planets. There, they were hired by people to carry out a variety of immoral operations. Sometimes, they were cold-blooded, sometimes, they were false and deceitful, all for the bounty and reward.

"Lion-beast, don’t make me catch you, because if I do, I’ll beat you so hard that your lion’s head will turn into that of a dog!" Chu Feng said coldly. He was rarely tricked like this, yet a lion-headed creature from the outer realms had unexpectedly deceived him.

"Oh, whatever you say. But after you die, I’ll fight to keep my promise. Next year, if I haven’t left this savage planet yet, I’ll visit your grave to burn two sheets of sacrificial paper and pour two bottles of fine wine in your memory. So, go in peace. It’s pointless to resist. You’re no match for the Hundred Transformations Saint Child. In the end, you’re just a prey."

Huang Tong spoke in an unhurried manner; he was calm and unruffled despite the chaos around him. He did not see his deception of Chu Feng as something wrong or disgraceful. On the contrary, he felt proud of himself. This was his work, after all.

The group of descenders around him all had complicated expressions on their faces as they fell back. They had always thought that this lion-headed man was a treacherous snake. In the beginning, he was extremely loyal and self-sacrificing. He had helped Chu Feng get out of trouble, and he had even united everyone to kill the remnant race members from Penglai, but in the end, it was all because he had other intentions.

Chu Feng ignored him and was unwilling to waste any more time talking to him. He would make the latter suffer a fate worse than death after capturing him.

The area up ahead was enshrouded in rosy clouds. That zone was the folded space where the Hundred Transformations Saint Child was. Right now, nothing could be seen as it was shrouded in clouds, mist, and prismatic brilliance. It looked quite hazy and divine.

Only when someone strode out amidst raging astral winds did the place become clearly visible.

It was a young man with brilliant eyes and glossy black satin-like hair which hung down to his waist. His face was fair and handsome, but he appeared somewhat feminine and was even more beautiful than many women.

"As a traitor who became a native heaven’s chosen, you truly deserve to be hunted down. After I plunder your life and fortune, I hope you don’t disappoint me."

Yu Wenfeng’s voice carried with it a gentle laugh and his smile never faltered even as he talked of massacre and cruelty.

When Chu Feng saw him and heard his speech, he immediately felt his hair stand on end. That phrase, "traitor" had been used again. Just how old was that phrase anyway?

In the old days, the entities of this planet lost the war. The refugees escaped and scattered in all directions, while the heavenly cavalry hunted them down and killed them. The adult men were addressed as "traitors" and were slaughtered in a bloody suppression.

That was truly a dark and bloody period of history!

Chu Feng had witnessed those events firsthand up on the moon. At that moment his scalp felt numb and his chest boiled over with anger. That group of armored horsemen was too vile.

After such a long period of time, to be referred to as a traitor in this day and age gave Chu Feng goosebumps and stirred up emotions from the bottom of his heart.

"You should be made into a mincemeat, come out of the folded space to your death!" Chu Feng looked at the Hundred Transformations Saint Child, who was standing in the folded space. There was still some distance between them.

He knew very clearly that the lineage of the armored horsemen of old, those executioners, hadn’t yet died out. Now, their descendants had come directly to Earth.

Bai Qing, who was wearing snow-white clothes, stood close to Yu Wenfeng and stated in a berating voice, "Quit being so unbridled. How could an aboriginal like you resist in front of His Royal Highness’ mandate?"

Behind Yu Wenfeng and Bai Qing stood a group of silent and grim horsemen emitting cruel intents. They were like a group of statues.

"Oh, although you’re of the traitorous species, you’re still not worthy of being struck down by my hand. The Heavenly Cavalry, who have been trained by me personally, will suffice," said Yu Wenfeng in an indifferent manner.

From his forefathers, he had come to understand the group of horsemen’s steel-blooded and callous way of doing things. He used this knowledge to cultivate and train them, and now he had obtained a truly formidable subordinate army.

Chu Feng shouted at him, "You cruel and unscrupulous saint child! You yearn for the brutal events of the past, so you revive the notorious Heavenly Cavalry, is that it?"

Yu Wenfeng was not angry. He maintained his indifferent smile and waved his hand lightly in dismissal. "Seize the traitor and bring him here."

Behind Chu Feng, a white mist pervaded the air as several silhouettes appeared one by one. Some were sitting astride vicious beasts, each of them emitting an intimidating aura.

The moment Chu Feng saw them, his pupils shrunk. They truly did look like they had on the moon. Their attire and adornments were all the same. Their armor was ghastly, and their weapons were extraordinary.

A total of six horsemen appeared, all of them reeking of blood. Three of the horsemen were riding the barbaric beasts. Even while riding, they were able to cross the threshold.

In the distance, the people that came with Huang Tong and Chu Feng all breathed in cold air. Within the mist, the six horsemen were emitting powerful energy fluctuations in an undisguised manner. One could sense the level of their strength; they were almost unbeatable at the current stage.

This was because they were creatures that had broken the eleventh and twelfth shackles. Even their mounts were this powerful. At this time on Earth, they were without peer.

Such a group of riders and mounts crossed over to sweep everything before them, including the native evolvers.

"These are my weakest troops. In order to successfully cross the boundary, some crippled themselves and lost a great amount of strength in the process.

Yu Wenfeng’s words made people’s hearts tremble in terror. They gasped inwardly—as expected of characters at the Saint Child level—even the weakest were this powerful!

"Oh, I’ve heard you’re a domain researcher. I just so happen to have a couple of servants who are as well. They’ve already gone over, so they can chat with you," Yu Wenfeng said this with an indifferent smile.

At this time, two silhouettes appeared from the dense fog behind the six horsemen. One of the figures said, "Don’t kill the traitor. We’ll use the domains to eliminate him in the area he excels in most."

The white mist in the area was coming from these two people. It covered up the horsemen. Truly an extraordinary method.

These two domain researchers were quite confident in themselves!

But not long ago, the two researchers and the cavalry were hiding in the distance and only after Chu Feng penetrated deeply into the fog did they rapidly rush over to cut off his escape route.

Otherwise, even if their domain methods were exceptional, they would be unable to conceal themselves from Chu Feng at close range. They also would be unable to block Chu Feng’s perception from adjacent areas.

The people in this place were shocked. All of a sudden, there were two domain researchers! This was extremely rare considering how valuable these kind of people were and how few there were compared to the evolvers. That the Hundred Transformations Saint Child could have two at his side meant that his foundations were indeed quite deep.

Now, the people on the other two star passages all displayed different expressions. They could not help but become emotionally moved.

The divine son that was playing chess with the elderly man was slightly surprised and raised his head a bit, looking at the two domain researchers but quickly returned to normal.

Princess Lin’s heart was thumping and jumping in her chest. She let out a gloomy sigh. As expected of a Saint Child of the outer realm. As a domain researcher, Chu Feng was already stunning enough, but two of such people were included among Yu Wenfeng’s followers. How could he compare?

She shook her head. The powers here were utterly unbalanced! No matter how strong he was, there was no way that a Chosen One of the aboriginals could compete with the Saint Child or a divine son of the outer realm. He would be crushed in an instant! There was no hope for victory, let alone survival.

She let out a breath of air and felt just a little bit guilty, but in the end, she knew she was correct in choosing not to get involved with Chu Feng at this juncture.

Not far away, on another star passage, that demonic saintess had a tender and charming smile on her face. Without any expression, her appearance was cool and elegant with a baleful aura. Right now, she was quite interested in the scene unfolding in front of her and was watching intently.

The Peacock King and the Nine-Lives Cat King had respectful looks on their faces as they stood on the side. They greatly revered this woman. These two people quietly lamented. Chu Feng was regarded as quite extraordinary, but compared to beings of the outer realms, he was very much inferior. What was he an expert in? Domains were his specialty, but the Hundred Transformations Saint Child had directly dispatched two such characters. This kind of lineup was simply to crush him utterly! As for evolutionary levels, they were even more incomparable! The Hundred Transformations Saint Child had sent out his weakest troops, but even these entities far surpassed Chu Feng in evolutionary level!

The Peacock King and Nine-lives Cat King looked at each other and thought that they had made the right choice in staying with people like the outer realm’s saintess and divine son. This chess move was played correctly.

In the past they, too, were proud and confident, so now they had hesitated quite a while before making this decision. Now, though, their minds were at ease.

Bai Qing was all smiles as she stated, "Although domain researchers are out of the ordinary as they’re all incredible talents, the Saint Child had never lacked such followers. Chu Feng, are you still arrogant?"

The two domain researchers’ bodies were in the dense fog. They had no pressure facing off against Chu Feng, and thus felt a sense of superiority.

They felt that, on a planet that had declined, only bits and pieces of domain knowledge could be passed on. The truly valuable stuff was underground, and nobody could tap into it to this day.

Adding on to this the information that they had obtained prior to this, they knew without a doubt that Chu Feng was nothing compared to them. He would be restrained and killed.

"Come, let the showdown between domain researchers begin! We will behead you in the field you excel in most!"

Their two faces had insipid smiles and were certain they would win.

However, they weren’t careless and had already begun quietly putting things in order to kill Chu Feng in one move. In reality, they had the upper hand as they had buried many magnetic stones. All they needed to do was wait for Chu Feng to step into Mount Lu and die.

Chu Feng listened with disdain as the corners of his mouth were held in a cold and indifferent smile. He had just returned from the moon and already there were people wanting to use domains to suppress him?

At this moment, the Hundred Transformations Saint Child said, "Oh, I forgot, I want him alive. Don’t kill him, and don’t disable him. He must be captured alive. I have a use for him."

"As you wish, it’s a domain showdown," said Chu Feng. He lightly tapped his foot on the ground. The placement of magnetic stones underneath the ground was suddenly thrown into disorder. His spiritual power flickered and shot through his forehead, changing the symbols on the magnetic stones and completely altering the two researchers’ meticulously prepared domain.

"Then die!" the two domain researchers shouted in unison. They moved at the same time to activate the domain underground that they had been so proud of.

Boom!

In only an instant, fiercely burning beams of light soared out. They were glaring and painful on the eyes.

The two researchers’ had smiles on their faces, but in a flash, it turned to alarm. These dreadful light beams weren’t rushing out near Chu Feng, but rather, they were engulfing the two from below their feet.

"No!" One of the researchers let out a blood-curdling scream as he exploded right then and there. His face was truly miserable.

"Ah..." The other researcher howled in grief as he rolled around on the ground. His body was covered in burns from head to toe as a wisp of extreme yang essence flames entangled his body. It was no use, and before long, he had transformed into a pile of ashes.

The scene was completely silent. Nobody made a sound.

Even the six horsemen standing not too far away were stupefied. Even with all their strength, they were unable to save them, and they had no idea what was going on.

Chu Feng stated in an ordinary voice, "What region of the galaxy are you from? Is this a joke? You call yourselves domain researchers, but one of you blew yourself up, and the other burst into flames. Is this some sort of performance? Isn’t this a bit too wretched?"

He looked to the Hundred Transformations Saint Child Yu Wenfeng and said, "These are what you called your strong followers? You’re right, they are quite out of the ordinary."

Everyone was shaken and bewildered.

Princess Lin was stunned. She stood there expressionless and lost in thought.

The young divine son who was playing chess with the elderly man stopped playing and revealed an odd expression as he glanced outside.

The demonic saintess was shocked. She didn’t understand domains, but her senses were acute, and she felt odd. The Peacock King and the Nine-Lives Cat King didn’t understand at all and were extremely surprised.

Yu Wenfeng approached. His maid Bai Qing’s complexion was ashen and her expression was cold as she gave her commands to the six horsemen, "What are you waiting for, capture him!"

"Capture me?" Chu Feng taunted, "I actually get the feeling that your people are smuggled goods. You had two formidable field researchers, one of which self-immolated and the other who spontaneously combusted. How comical! Now, it’s even more impossible to truly confront me. You must know that the field I truly excel most is in evolution. My strength is without peer!"

The audience listened and silently criticized him. How could someone who had broken the ninth shackle have the audacity claim to be strong in evolution?

"Die!"

One of the knights yelled as he rushed over as fast as lightning. The long and splendid blade in his hand moved to strike at Chu Feng. This blade could cut apart mountains and break vegetation into pieces.

Chu Feng lifted his hand and pulled out a scarlet, sparkling monastic robe inlaid with gold threads. The robe was not just used to hinder the terrifying blade—it was also used to bind him and pull him back.

The monastic robe emitted a scarlet glow and revealed golden patterns. It was quite the exceptional object, and its defensive abilities were shocking—not only did it break the sword, but it also confined the person.

This was the treasure that Hu Ruoxian had gifted him. Chu Feng had long since tested its abilities.

In a moment, he had captured one of the knights and, without hesitation, swung the bronze sword in his other hand to chop off the rider’s head. The decapitated head rolled off into the distance.

The audience’s expressions were frozen at the unexpected ending. In a single exchange, a powerful knight had been efficiently decapitated!

At this time, Chu Feng draped the Buddhist monk’s robe over his shoulder and unexpectedly exclaimed, "Boundless Deity!"

He looked at the Hundred Transformations Saint Child Yu Wenfeng and said, "These are your followers. One exploded, one caught fire, and one was sliced like a vegetable. Truly a variety! You have followers of all kinds! Oh, the Heavenly Cavalry is indeed amazing." Chu Feng was not at all sincere.
