If one were to say who would be affected the most with Qiao Yue’s return to the Qiao family, it would be the third family.

Although the Qiao family didn’t favor sons over daughters, the third family was always inadequate compared to the other two families because Old Master Qiao didn’t like them.

As of now, the first family’s Qiao Xuan and Qiao Jing, and the second family’s Qiao Ze, all had their own careers. How the old man’s assets were divided didn’t matter much to them. But the third family only had two daughters who were both still in school. How much assets or stocks they would inherit in future was of great importance to the third family.

The third madam’s frown was deep. The other two families wouldn’t care much if Qiao Jing brought Qiao Yue to meet the old master, so she must think of a way to make the other two families see Qiao Yue as an enemy like she did.

Qiao Xin was a little unhappy at her mother’s silence. She walked up to the dressing table and shook her mother and said, “Mom, quickly think of a way to get rid of that bastard child. He bullied me yet second brother took his side. Why should he?”

Third Madam Qiao had suffered a few losses at Qiao Yue’s hands and was very dissatisfied with him. She sighed and said, “Xin’er, you know that Qiao Jing won’t side with you, so why do you still try to cozy up to him?”

Third Madam Qiao’s words were somewhat resentful because Qiao Xin had failed to live up to her expectations. Although she loved both her daughters, it’s difficult to not have a favorite child. She loved her elder daughter more than her younger daughter.

Even if the elder daughter was impetuous, she knew how to think for her family. She made things difficult for Qiao Yue because she wanted to push him out of the Qiao family and not let him take a share of the third family’s money.

Compared to the elder daughter, the younger daughter was a little timid.

Qiao Xin pouted. “There’s something wrong with second brother. I’m his sister and I grew up with him, but he’s always siding with the bastard child, against me.”

In fact, most people lacked self-respect sometimes. The more they were being ignored by a person, the more they wanted to cozy up to that person. Qiao Xin was no exception. She knew that Qiao Jing didn’t like her, but she still wanted to cozy up to him.

Third Madam Qiao was also very helpless seeing her daughter like this. She could only wave her hand for Qiao Xin to go back to school. She would handle this matter.

After Qiao Xin left, the third madam called her husband…

In the president’s office on the top floor of Jinghang Group headquarters, Qiao Jing looked at his phone and frowned. He hesitated for a while before he picked up the phone and made a call.

In less than two rings, the other person picked up the call and said in a gentle male voice, “Hello? How are you?”

“It’s me, Qiao Jing.”

The person on the other end of the line didn’t seem to expect Qiao Jing to call him for he fell silent.

A few seconds later, Qiao Jing heard the other person say, “Meeting adjourned. We’ll discuss the details in the afternoon.”

“Busy?” Qiao Jing asked.

“I’m alright. What made you call me out of the blue?”

Hearing the chuckle on the other end of the call, Qiao Jing swallowed the words of concern he was about to say.

“I’m going to take Qiao Yue to see Grandpa.” Qiao Jing stated his purpose directly.

“To see Grandpa?”

The tone at the other end of call became flatter as the person continued, “Grandpa hasn’t woken up yet. I’m afraid he won’t be able to recognize anyone.”

“It doesn’t matter. He has to see Grandpa since he came back to the Qiao family.”

Qiao Jing paused for a moment before he continued, “Brother, you said you were going to visit a Chinese medicine doctor. How’s that going?”

Qiao Xuan didn’t expect Qiao Jing to suddenly address him. His hand holding the phone trembled but the smile on his face turned warmer.

“The old doctor’s assistant said that the doctor is too old to fly, so he will send two of his disciples to examine Grandpa.”

Qiao Xuan’s words made Qiao Jing’s eyes light up, but when he thought about his past disappointments, Qiao Jing forced himself to calm down.

Although it would be good to invite a famous Chinese medicine doctor to treat their grandfather, Qiao Jing didn’t dare to have high hopes.

Qiao Jing closed his eyes and said in a steady voice, “Did he say when they will arrive?”

“The doctor’s assistant said that the disciples are currently overseas and might need three to four days to return.”

“Okay. I’ll bring Qiao Yue to see Grandpa then!”

On the other end of the call, Qiao Xuan chuckled. “Sure. We brothers haven’t seen each other in a long time too.”

Although Qiao Xuan was in the same research Institute as Zhou Lan, he travelled frequently for work. It had been almost half a year since he left the country.

Qiao Jing ended the call, took off his glasses and pinched the bridge of his nose. He leaned back in his swivel chair and sighed.
