Chapter 82 - 82 A Huge Misunderstanding
“For the tiger?” Zhao Chuchu glared.
The owner almost choked on his own saliva. “M-miss, even if our restaurant is the biggest in the county, there’s no way we can take advantage of others like this. 80 silvers is such a huge scam! I’m paying 800 silvers for it.”
“What? 800 silvers?” Zhao Chuchu was stunned.
On the other hand, Xie Heng grinned.
It was only then the lady realized she had misunderstood all along.
The five fingers the old hunter had shown did not represent 50 silvers but 500. Since tigers weren’t protected animals in the past, she didn’t know how much a single one could get her.
“I didn’t know a tiger could sell for that much. I thought not many people would want it since I killed it with a single punch…” Zhao Chuchu tried her best not to embarrass herself.
“W-with a single punch?” The owner’s eyes turned wide instantly.
“Yup. Can’t you see, there’s no wound on it?”
Now that Zhao Chuchu had shown herself as a lady with bottomless strength, it left the owner in even more awe.
“Miss, if you don’t mind, you can wait in one of our VIP rooms on the first floor. You can try some of our signature dishes in the meantime. Also, do you prefer we pay you in silvers or banknotes?”
“Please give me 700 silvers worth of banknotes and the rest in silvers and cents.”
“Alright. I’ll have my men prepare those for you. Waiter, lead them to the VIP room.” The owner paused for a second. “The meal is on me. If you ever hunt anything good again, please remember to sell it to me.”
“No problem!” Zhao Chuchu nodded.
The only thing was that as long as no tiger would try to harm her, she would never kill them. She wouldn’t know when such an occasion would happen again.
Xie Jun and Niu An helped Xie Heng up the stairs, following closely behind Zhao Chuchu. They soon arrived on the restaurant’s first floor, Visitor’s Aroma.
Despite having his eyes covered with a piece of cloth, Xie Heng could easily move around everything without anyone warning him.
“Holy cow! Who knew that a tiger could sell for 800 silvers?” Niu An exclaimed as soon as the waiter left. “Chuchu! Did you really kill it with a single punch?”
“I was just boasting. It ran into a tree and killed itself.” Zhao Chuchu chuckled. “I was lucky. That’s really a lot of money.”
“Then, can we head into the mountain again tomorrow? Maybe we’ll find another tiger running into a tree again?” Xie Jun was utterly excited, thinking they could earn more money with that and that his sister-in-law wouldn’t have to work that hard anymore.
The young boy’s innocent remark made Xie Heng chuckle too. “We might find some rabbits too. Do you remember the story of the man who waited for the rabbits to run into rocks and die on their own?”
Xie Jun’s face turned red immediately. “I-I was just saying…”
“Come on. Ease up a little.” Zhao Chuchu laughed as she poured a cup of tea for Xie Heng. “It was just a joke.”
The man smiled.
It didn’t take long for the food to be served.
Niu An looked at the table full of different food, and his stomach rumbled.
“Come on, let’s eat. You too, Mr. Niu. We don’t want the food to get cold,” Zhao Chuchu said.
“B-but…” Niu An was a little hesitant.
Xie Jun quickly put a piece of drumstick for Niu An. “Here, Mr. Niu! Have a drumstick! Thank you for helping us out!”
The little boy then got another one for Zhao Chuchu. “Here!”
“Thank you, my sweet little boy.” Zhao Chuchu smiled.
That made the little boy blush, and the lady laughed at that reaction.
Xie Jun and Niu An had never tasted such good food. Together with Zhao Chuchu, the three of them did not stop eating until everything was devoured.
In the end, all three of them lay back on the chair while rubbing their tummies.
Xie Heng was a little speechless, and he turned to the waiter. “Do you have strawberry juice? Can we have some?”
