Chapter 430 430. BURY
"Do you understand me?" Noah voiced loudly, standing before a group of no less than a hundred persons.
He could feel their fear. And how would they not be scared? He had three men floating beside him and the ground beneath him featured a layer of ice. Not only that, he had a few hundred ice golems slightly above 12ft in height behind him.
They nodded at his question and when he waved his hand dismissively he watched them disperse quickly, murmurs filling that area by the reason of his singular announcement.
Two hours
Noah had given them two hours to evacuate the town and its surrounding areas, or they would be caught up in the horror that was about to unfold.
He had only done that as a result of their connections to Erolia and the others. Apparently, when the men had tried to take Savy, her brother, from the man whom he had been left in care with, about seven males had stood in the way.
They had all died.
That led to the reason for the 300 hundred golems behind him. The people of the slums of Lilua were severely lacking in power, they would need protection to carefully traverse the regions and get somewhere safe.
He would task them to protect the people until they found somewhere safe to stay. He didn't care where, nor did he care if any town or city would accept them, all he wanted was to exempt them from the death that would happen that night.
To Noah's shock, they were all back in less than twenty minutes.
'Only a bit over one thousand,' Noah noted inwardly, wondering if that amount of golems would be enough.
He wanted to equip them with enough, and besides the costs of the golems were tiny.
Noah provided an additional 200 golems. Maxing their numbers to 500. That was a large force. Even he had to admit it.
Thankfully the golems were pretty capable of managing themselves as long as he gave them precise orders.
"You're to encamp around them night and day. Kill anything that poses danger to them, and do not hesitate to jeopardize your body to protect them if needed," He ordered coldly, but his golems made no reaction. They weren't supposed to, yet he knew they had understood and heard. As long as he had an image of what he wanted, they could fulfill it.
"Gather In their center. They shall be your walls till they are all destroyed. Who can I trust as a leader here?" he questioned, sweeping his gaze on the crowd. They went silent.
Someone walked forward, however. A young lady no older than Erolia.
She had long blue hair and Noah could feel a sense of familiarity with her.
"I'm of the ice affinity," the girl muttered glancing back at two adults whom Noah identified as her parents.
"Great then. What is your name?" Noah asked, his voice rather blank.
"Nadia," she replied head high.
Noah nodded and turned to his large group of golems.
"You are to listen to her from now on. Wherever she says go, you go," Noah announced and his words caused the crowd to want to protest.
"Whoever tries to harm her, gets killed, instantly. Three of you are to be by her side at all times," he gave a ruthless command that shut the crowd up. Especially when three of those tall golems walked forward and stood around her. She was only a peak tier 1.
Noah wasn't in the mood to entertain their complaints.
"Follow me," he commanded coldly while walking towards the bridge into the main town.
The golems parted for his passage as Nadia remained directly behind him, her assigned golems following close to her also.
The crowd followed with their little things packed and the golems spread abroad from all sides. Their missions had begun.
They got to the main town and the commotion caused the town to awaken. Their eyes shone with surprise and fear at the same time. Most caught sight of Diro and wondered what was going on, even if they all had a solid idea what.
Due to their large numbers, the crowd and golems had to traverse different streets, but they all had one destination. The exit of the town.
"Kill anyone who appears before you and isn't among the crowd," Noah unfolded his consciousness and gave that order to his golems.
Although he already planned to bury that town, that command wasn't the main idea. He only wanted them to feel terror first.
Their village head had put them in that situation and that day would be the end of them. He simply needed some people to set the mood.
Soon enough individuals or groups; out of their blind and dumb hatred, left their homes to either watch the event or hurl insults at the passing crowd.
A cruel smile appeared on Noah's face at such individuals, since such people found the 12ft golems departing to arrive before them.
Blood spilled at that point, as tens of people were killed to set the mood of terror. The others stayed within their homes.
Most of them were dumb teenagers with a few adults. Noah could only wonder how deep that corruption had gone.
The journey to the exit of the town was mostly silent, or at least silent of words. The heavy steps the golems took spread out in all directions as it sounded like an army marched through the town.
They eventually reached the gate, but Noah placed his hand on the wall and turned it to ice before shattering it to allow the crowd pass through.
"You should consult her as she holds the command to my golems from now on," Noah explained in a flat tone. His mood remained bad and his anger always threatened to spill. All of them, including Nadia, were scared of him.
Nadia nodded when his luster-less gaze reached her. He had a mask on, but she could recognize that he had a lot going on in his mind.
"Good, now go," Noah ordered, and the crowd began to leave. "You should pick up the pace. If you get caught in what is to happen you will not escape with your life," Noah explained while they completely exited the town. Joy filled their hearts at the events, not his words.
Most continued to wonder what it was that he could do that would endanger their lives even if they had already left the town.
Noah turned when they left his sight, and his eyes fell on the multiple people that had summoned the courage to come closer to him.
He tilted his head, removing his mask to reveal the cold smile that had unfolded on his face when he saw how their trembling gazes occasionally darted toward the three men under his influence.
"We-" The old man at the forefront tried to speak, but Noah raised his hand to stop the man.
"I've made my decision. Say your prayers, as they will be your last. I will bury your vile town under her." Noah pointed at the sky, and in the span of an instant, Cudgels' immense and shiny structure unfolded high in the sky, silently floating above the town waiting for Noah's command.
Words could not describe the dread that unfolded in the town at that point. Even the leaving crowd picked up their pace when they caught sight of it.
