Chapter 640 Four Pillars: Speedy Progress
Chapter 640 Four Pillars: Speedy Progress
Then, Hal had done what he had done yesterday as well, giving everyone a decently strong stat boosting skill that had a considerably long duration.
Surprisingly though, rather than go on their separate ways after that, the other three had cast their own skills for the others to experience as well.
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
Since it was the first time the other three were doing something like this, the others receiving the effects weren\'t sure whether they were casting a stat boosting skill, a movement speed boosting skill, or a skill that enhanced another aspect of combat.
Nevertheless, the fact still stood that many of their capabilities were enhanced thanks to the series of skills, increasing the confidence of the entire group as they headed their separate ways.
…
"Here we go again." Arriving at the west quadrant at less time than before thanks to the skills the others had cast, Valyr scouted out the place for a bit from the area he designated as his resting spot within the quadrant.
Pushing [Hunter\'s Tracking Eyes] to its limits, it did not take long for the young man to come up with a rough plan in his mind, making sure that he was gaining authority levels as quickly as possible.
"[Limit Break]."
"[Refined Offense Aura]."
Swoosh! Swoosh!
Allowing his aura to billow outward after enhancing it, Valyr began to grin a bit once he noticed that his aura had caught the attention of a bunch of primitive humanoids nearby.
After some time, as if those humanoids had realized what was going on, they began to charge towards the young man with all their might, hoping to use their advantage in numbers to overwhelm him.
"[Crimson Blade Torrent]." Moving away from his designated resting spot, Valyr let out a chuckle as he retrieved his magic scepter from his spatial bracelet, sending a large volley of crimson blades towards the humanoids that began to chase after him.
"[Arcane Shadow Serpent Combat Style]…" Then, as if the young man had practiced the move countless times, Valyr swapped his magic scepter for the spear on his back, summoning both Shadow Energy and mana within his body as he swung upward.
"[Arcane Tide of the Dark Night]!"
Whoosh!
With an inherently physical and an inherently magical attack heading their way, the humanoids chasing after Valyr had employed the defenses they specialized in, thinking that it wouldn\'t take long for them to get their chance at striking the young man down.
Though, with how Valyr overlapped the two attacks over one another, that meant that the humanoids became standing targets to him, with only the third type of primitive humanoid faring somewhat better compared to the first two types.
Then again, with how the other humanoids slowly began to fall one by one as they succumbed to the attacks they were vulnerable to, the third type of primitive humanoids eventually fell down his well, causing Valyr to faintly smile as a notification sound resounded in his mind.
Ding!
[You have completed the quest: Gates of Enlightenment\' Trial (3).]
[Your authority level within the Gates of Enlightenment has been increased by one. Your current authority level is now Level 6.]
"I just gotta do this four more times, then I\'ll reach the minimum authority level needed for the other quest." Selecting to do the quest one more time after being asked by the system, Valyr wondered once more as to whether or not Level 10 was the maximum authority level one could have.
In the end, he placed the thought at the back of his head for the meantime, deciding to come back to the hypothesis only after he had reached the authority level that was considered to be the limit.
For now…
It was time to kill some more primitive humanoids.
…
As more and more time passed, it went without saying that Valyr and the others had focused most of their attention towards killing the primitive humanoids to increase their authority levels.
By the time the sun was at the peak of the sky, Valyr had already reached an authority level of Level 8. Then again, that was due to the fact that he had almost cleared the quest twice yesterday, while the others had only cleared it once in comparison.
Of course, that did not mean that the others were making slower progress. Being on par with Valyr when it came to combat, Hal had already reached an authority level of Level 7, only needing a few more kills to reach Level 8.
Surprisingly, Loreina also had an authority level of Level 7 by the time the day turned noon, leveraging the fact that she could command a massive army of summons to fight for her.
Though, when compared to Hal, she still had a ways to go before reaching Level 8, only having made it a quarter of the way after picking up the quest again.
As for Vera and Faulus, both of them had an authority level of Level 6, showing to the others that combat was not their forte.
However, that did not mean that they were lagging behind, with each of them only needing around ten more kills or so before reaching the same authority level as Hal and Loreina.
"I guess everyone\'s going to reach Level 10 before it even turns to night." Taking a look at the party chat to see how the others were progressing, Valyr sat down on his resting spot and ate some of the rations he had brought along with him.
Taking a few sips of water after that, the young man went silent for a bit as he pondered over a couple of things. "Hmm… I think I\'ll reach Level 10 around the afternoon."
"That gives me some time to test my hypothesis and do some other stuff I might come up with before grouping up with the others for the night," muttered the young man to himself, his gaze gradually focusing onto some place not far away from where he was.
"Alright." Letting out a faint sigh, Valyr stood up and looked at the primitive humanoids that filled the west quadrant. After that, he returned his attention to the place he was staring at before. "I\'ve made up my mind."
"Once I reach Level 10 in authority…"
"I\'m gonna head to where the quadrant leader is."
