Chapter 641 Four Pillars: Incomplete Equation
Chapter 641 Four Pillars: Incomplete Equation
After making up his mind on what he was going to do after reaching Level 10 in terms of authority level, it was no surprise that the young man went on a rampage once more, killing all of the primitive humanoids within his vicinity.
With how many primitive humanoids he had killed so far, it went without saying that Valyr had greatly optimized his method in killing multiple primitive humanoids in as few attacks as possible.
However, for some reason, as he made the push to earn the last few authority levels needed to complete the authority level objective on the other quest, the young man had seemingly improved his method even further.
What would take him a few minutes to clear now only took a couple, while the lone primitive humanoids he fought that would\'ve usually taken a couple of minutes to kill now took slightly over a minute at most.
Though he was glad that his killing efficiency had improved even further, highly certain that the experience would carry on once he had to take the trial to enter the Gates of Awakening, Valyr still wondered as to what reason caused this sudden improvement.
Was it the fact that he was quite close to being over with the grind?
Or was it the fact that he had found more ingenious ways to utilize his skills while fighting against the humanoids?
Perhaps, it was just the feeling of pleasure carnage brought him as he gained millions upon millions of XP in one fell swoop.
Well, whatever it may be, this next kill would finally free him from the authority level grind.
"[Arcane Shadow Serpent Combat Style]." Intently watching the primitive humanoid\'s every move, Valyr swiftly retrieved the spear behind his back as he summoned his Shadow Energy and mana in the process.
Then, just as he was going to move both energies towards the tip of his spear, the humanoid had sent out its attack, commanding a barrage of mana bolts to head towards Valyr\'s way.
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
With how sparse the blanket of mana bolts was, the young man thought that it wouldn\'t be difficult for him to avoid all of the attacks if he wanted to.
Though, with how he had already charged up the attack that would undoubtedly end the humanoid\'s life, Valyr decided to employ a skill he hadn\'t used in quite some time.
"[Shadow Warp]."
Swoosh!
Seeing how its opponent did not have any intentions of dodging its barrage of attacks, the humanoid inwardly sneered as it knew how much power was contained behind each mana bolt.
However, before it could even gloat over its opponent\'s demise, the being it was fighting disappear from its vision all of a sudden, only to appear a couple of meters away from it an instant later.
"Grwaaagghh!!!" Surprised from the suddenness of its opponent\'s appearance, the humanoid decided to send a series of attacks once more, thinking that the close range would undoubtedly allow its attacks to land true.
Unfortunately…
"[Descent of the Dark Arcane Fang]."
Whoosh!
Before the humanoid could even summon the mana out of its body, Valyr had swung his spear in a downwards arc, bisecting the humanoid\'s body in half as its head burst into chunks of flesh and blood.
Ding!

"Finally." Shaking off the blood that clung onto his spear, Valyr affixed the spear onto his back once more before taking a look at the series of notifications that filled his screen.
Faintly smiling as he recalled the moment he turned the tables against the humanoid, the young man nodded in satisfaction as he finished reading through all of the notifications. "I should really use those skills more often."
With how his strength had grown to the point where only enemies that were many levels and ranks higher could pose a threat to him, Valyr gradually forgot the existence of the skill that was used to be a staple of his combat style, the [Serpent Steps Movement Style].
Then again, with the skill being upgraded after he had gained his subclass, only to be improved even further after he had become a Shadow Serpent Manalancer, the young man did not truly forget the skill, utilizing one of its skills during his fight with the Ancient Elite tier Shadow Serpent.
With how he had used one of its other skills just now to turn the tables against the lone humanoid, it did not take long for Valyr to realize that he had basically boxed himself when it came to unpredictability during in combat.
Sure, he had taken care of one part of that equation, which was his variety in attacks. However, because he had focused too much on that portion, he slowly began to forget the other part that completed that equation.
And that was movement.
"I should familiarize myself with the skill again before heading someplace else." Closing up the notification screen, Valyr made his way to his designated resting spot within the quadrant as he sent a message to the party chat, reminding everyone to meet up at the south quadrant later.
Then, basking in the environment for a couple of minutes, the young man took in a deep breath before sending out a command. "System…"
"Identify [Shadow Serpent Movement Style]."
