Chapter 71 - 71: To Force Her or Not
Purple Summers quickly fell asleep.
Incredibly fast.
Maybe it was because her soul was in an incompatible body, making the burden too heavy. Or perhaps she was just exhausted.
Whether it was being frightened by Alexander Summers or helping him serve a large python, it all made Purple feel particularly tired.
After she had fallen asleep, Alexander raised his arm and held her into his embrace, allowing her to lean against his chest.
Her cool, smooth hair, her soft, delicate body, and her docile behavior in sleep, quite different from her aggressive, awake self. However, he liked her in either state.
He touched Purple’s white, tender face, and then gently kissed her pink, soft lips.
Thinking of Purple’s warning not to leave any traces, Alexander’s thin lips raised slightly, his eyes filled with infatuation, and his chest swelled with tender affection.
Next time…
Once her soul is healed, he has to keep her by his side.
However, if he wants her to follow him, he fears he would have to force her into submission…
To force her would incur her disgust, but not doing so means she won’t get close to him. Between the two, Alexander would rather be detested, even hated, than accept her distancing from him.
Thinking this way, Alexander held Purple and fell asleep.
When Purple woke up the next day, Alexander was gone.
She sat on the bed, staring blankly at the wrinkles beside her, where the faint scent of a man still lingered.
She checked her nightgown, and everything was as usual.
Then she ran to the dressing mirror to check her body, finding no traces of any kisses.
Alexander had actually not touched her.
He had spared her and had already left.
Purple gently exhaled, and at this moment, she finally felt truly relaxed!
She pulled open the curtains, and the golden sunlight spilled into the room-outside, the summer sun was splendid, the sky clear and blue, so pure and bright that the occasional passing bird could lift one’s spirits.
The garden was full of colorful flowers, blooming eagerly in the beautiful weather, and vibrant butterflies danced amidst them, their movements charming and graceful.
Everything seemed so wondrous and soothing.
It was as if, with Alexander gone, the whole world had become a better place.
But…
Alexander would return sooner or later.
With this thought, the emerging joy diminished by threefold.
Purple hoped to persuade Atra Blanc to let her live at Summers Family before Alexander returned.
However, in thinking this, she would lose sight of her original intention. She had insisted on staying at the Summers family residence in order to search for the truth more conveniently.
Moreover… would living in a dormitory really keep Alexander away?
In the end, it’s because she was too weak!
She earnestly hoped that Alexander, during his time away, would get to know some beauties, star models, internet celebrities, anything, and quickly shift his interest away from her!
After lunch, Purple still used the excuse of buying books as a reason to go out.
She met up with Aria Jackson at the fitness center where they used to go together.
One floor of the gym was a combat training ground.
When Aria arrived, Purple was sweating profusely as she punched a sandbag.
Her cheeks flushed from the intense exercise, and her frail figure seemed to lack power. Although her punching posture was correct, it gave off a sense of helplessness.
“Take it slow,” Aria approached, steadying the swaying sandbag. “Progress gradually to avoid injuring yourself.”
Purple stopped and nodded, gasping for breath.
Her strength wasn’t enough.
Her speed wasn’t enough.
Her accuracy wasn’t enough, either.
This body had the technique but not the strength to match it, making it no wonder that Alexander could overpower her.
Purple wiped her sweat and thought that perhaps she was being too optimistic.
Even with her previous body, she might not have been able to turn the tables on Alexander, who could very well be a professional level…
However, intensified training would never be a mistake.
Purple sat down to rest and unscrewed a bottle of mineral water to drink.
Aria handed her a small USB flash drive, saying, “The stuff you asked for last time, it’s all in here..”
