Chapter 195: Three... And That Makes A Homerun!
|Mhm! I can do that!| She frolicked away with a giddy expression before working on taking off all the posters she was 'assigned' to.
"Now that all of that is out of the way, let me begin on my si-"
"Mhmu!" Emu squeaked.
"You too??"
"Mhmu! Mhmu!"
"Fine, fine, you can take the left side then."
"Mhmu!" Emu bounced away with shining gold eyes as it looked up at all the posters on the left side of the board before grabbing them one by one with his slimy appendages.
..
Azmond looked at everybody hard at work with a conflicted expression.
"Well Does this make me a certified freeloader? I don't know how to feel about this"
He might as well put down a beach chair and take a nap at this point!
How did he end up as the only one doing nothing?!?
'I bet I look like some sort of slave owner right about now.' He thought to himself with an awkward smile.
He even had on the elusive and imposing outfit that some sort of secretive slave owner would have!
This truly was not going to be good news for his 'reputation' around these parts
He had 'face' to upkeep, you know?!? Now all the 'work' he had 'done' to 'build' up such a stat sheet had all gone to waste!
"..."
...
A few seconds passed by in the blink of an eye as Boundless, Crystalline, and Emu finished picking up all the E-Rank and below Quests that had to do with monster hunting. Every quest they grabbed had a quest area within a one hundred thousand-mile radius of the City of RiverBloom.
And the result of such a collection process was hundreds of posters being inserted into Azmond's storage ring
'Isn't this a little too much?? Even for me, this is a little' He didn't know how to take the glare that all the Association workers were giving him upon seeing him hoard a vast number of the quests on the quest board.
'I didn't know giving out such a seemingly simple directive would lead to nearly half a thousand quests ending up in my storage ring'
"Did I do a good job?"
|You like my quests the most, don't you, Azmond?!?|
"Mhmu! Mhmu!?"
All three of his little 'Quest Collectors' exclaimed out with differing tones. However, it was pretty clear what they were all getting at.
They just wanted to know which quests he 'liked the most'...
"Uhmm They are all so good that I simply can't choose one over the other. However, look at the pretty pink monster on this one," he responded with an exasperated tone as he pointed at a weird pink monster with wild feathers going in every direction.
"Mhmu?!" Emu was successfully fooled, as it really wanted to eat that bird!
'That makes one'
|Ooh! That bird is so cute!! Can we get one, Azmond?!? Pretty pwease!!|
'Two'
"I like the nobility surrounding that bird, Azmond. Do you think we can get a painting with a bird similar to that one on it? We can put it in our future hom-...
Wa-Wait, I mean, th-that if we did ever get like a permanent place to stay, t-then we could use a pretty bird like that to liven up the atmosphere That is what I meant"
She started off strong but ended with a flushed red face.
'Three And that makes a home run!'
....
"Sure, sure, whatever you guys say... Why don't we head out and take care of these quests right now?"
His raspy voice came out with an uncomfortable smile as he began walking in the direction of the exit. Garnering the stares of all the Adventurer's on his way outnot that he cared much about them.
|Yay! We are finally going to hunt some monsters! Let's go to the Goblin Village quest location first! I really hate those goblins!
Can we also-...|
She badgered Azmond with her nonstop questions, as the four of them were already half a step out the door.
"Yah, yeah, definitely, whatever you say, Boundless," he responded to all her questions with a tired tone.
"Where are we going first, Azmond?" Crystalline's melodic voice had already made its way over to him as she linked arms with his right side.
"We are going to take out the goblin quests first," he replied with a small smile as he took both her and Boundless by the arms before stepping up on thin air.
His body instantly took flight with all three of them in tow, followed by dozens of sonic booms sounding out as they already left the City of RiverBloom.
******
In an undisclosed location on the highest floor of the Adventurer's Association in RiverBloom, a man and a woman are seen conversing.
"Do you think they will make it through all those quests within a week, Elara?" The elegant voice of the man echoed out.
He had on a professional-looking black and brown suit with a frame that stretched out the fabrics to the limit. This outfit of his contrasted quite well with his long gray hair that was left hanging behind him.
This refined old man was looking toward a woman with long blonde hair tied up into a ponytail.
She also had on a black and brown suit; however, hers was even more of a tight fit than the one he had on. Mostly due to those 'assets' of hers
"I don't know, sir. But if you were to ask me the likelihood of a man in the Late Foundation Establishment Realm making it through half a thousand quests within 7 days, then I would tell you zero percent."
Her voice came out in a staid tone, as it appeared like she took her job very seriously.
