Chapter 298: Months Pass By… And Calista Gets Stronger??
"Welcome to the 'Swanson Transportation Company'! Feel free to look around the area before you head to your designated ships!"
The Primal Beast started to announce the usual introduction he gave at every branch of the Swanson Transportation Company.
"But do keep in mind that the departure dates vary, and there will be discrepancies between what is stated on your ticket and what it will actually be. Get in contact with the closest company associate to figure out the precise departure times!"
He ended his speech before he was escorted off a futuristic podium by two guards in the Early Void Refining Realm.
...
"He's here again"
Azmond wasn't even surprised that he was right there with them anymore.
|Yah, the stinky lion always arrives and leaves exactly when we do. You think he is part of something bigger, Azmond?|
Boundless looked at the faded figure of the Primal Beast before turning her gaze back to a tall silver foxkin.
"Hmm"
Azmond heard the question voiced by her before he started to brood over the subject.
After a few nanoseconds of pondering, he responded to Boundless:
"That could be the case, and we could likely figure out the truth of the matter if we delved a little further, but there's really no point in going through the trouble when we're already so close to the topmost step," he ended with a nonchalant voice.
And it wasn't like he was wrong; they were indeed approaching the top floor of the Luminous Grounds, and 7 months had passed since they began their ascent of the Steps.
Furthermore, his strength had long since breached into the first stage of the Tribulation Transcendence Realm!
He had even resumed his extermination of all the 'heinous' monsters in the Nightmare Council.
That, of course, included all the Low-Rank Generals, High-Rank Generals, and the Low-Rank-High-Rank Monster Kings.
The number of monsters he had 'cleaned up' surpassed the hundreds of millions a few days ago, and it had even started to approach the billion-kill milestone!
Which also meant that his stats had soared exponentially!
That wasn't even to mention all the 'kills' he got from his 'Non-Main Party Members'.
And they weren't inactive in the least; in fact, for some odd reason, billions of them working together allotted him just about the same number of experience points he acquired from 'actively reaping experience points' himself.
*****
"Azmond, can we get some more sushi?"
The soft, almost inaudible voice of Calista sounded out as she held Azmond's hand.
"Of course," he began with a kind smile.
"Which places would you like to go to this time?" He ended with a question.
"..."
Calista looked out at all the sushi joints that surrounded the branch of the Swanson Transportation Company before she pointed out a shop with a big glowing neon sign.
"The ones with the big fish... they are tasty," she murmured.
|Yah, yah, Azmond. Let's go to that one!| Boundless chided in with a radiant smile.
|They have those pretty, colorful fish! You know, the ones that go 'bluba bluba'!!|
Her expression was as goofy as could be, as she attempted to imitate the way the live fish acted before they were killed.
"..." "..." "..."
Azmond, Emu, and Calista looked at such a display with blank faces.
They should honestly have already gotten used to her shenanigans after spending so long together, but somehow, or someway, she always managed to amaze them.
"So, anyway, how has that Qi control practice been coming along?"
Azmond directed his question toward Calista as he awaited her response.
And it didn't take long before she replied, "It has been going well"
Her voice came out in an indifferent tone; however, her expression showed that she was actually quite proud of what she had done.
"Oh?"
Azmond immediately noticed the sheen in her eyesa sheen that was just begging for some recognition.
"Why don't you show me your progress, then? I would love to see how far you improved from your previous Early Core Formation level control," he ended with a curious tone.
It was clear that he only asked such a thing so Calista would have a chance to show off a little.
*Step Step*
She thought it over while they walked toward the sushi joint before she responded, "...Mhmm"
Following such a response, she lifted her hands in the air as a misty gray Qi started to materialize in the area around them.
WAAA!
The energy almost seemed like it would go out of control and subsequently blow up the entire city, but before it could...
"Mhmm"
She moved her left hand a little so as to counteract the energy released from her other hand.
WAaa
Her aura died down a lot before reaching a manageable level.
Following such a skillful display of her control, she took it a step further and even started to condense the misty gray energy into a small, 2 foot-long kittyit started to dance around the group before eventually dispersing.
*Clap! Clap! Clap!*
Claps echoed out from Azmond before he started to speak.
"That was excellent, Calista!" He began with a wide smile as he started petting her fluffy hair.
"You have already reached the Nascent Soul Realm in control. Give it a few more years, and your control should be able to catch up to your Unity Form Synthesis Realm power," he added with an approximate guess.
Over the last half a year, Azmond had essentially taken Calista on a powertrain using his 'Main-Party Member' function.
He had not only put monsters into a half-dead state before letting her take the final kill. But he had also tutored her on all the different applications and improvements she could make with her Qi.
One of such 'improvement tutorages' was better control over her strength.
The reason for such a 'tutorage' was because she was utterly unable to control her strength after breaking through so many minor realms in such a short period of time.
After all, she went from the peak stages of Qi Condensation to the Early Stages of Unity Form Synthesis in a matter of months!
Such speed even beat Azmond in terms of blitzing through the realms!
