Chapter 299: Calista’s Internal Conflict, Stingcoil…?
The main 'issue' with such consecutive breakthroughs was that she had broken through to new realms so fast that her 'control' could not keep up.
And a lack of control only spelled trouble for the timid girl...
Azmond had learned the hard way what would happen if Calista was allowed full access to her Unity Form Synthesis Realm power
He wouldn't doubt it if a few kingdoms disappeared off the face of the planet if she unleashed her power without the limiters he placed or had complete control over her strength.
And it was such 'complete control' that the both of them were working towards.
Nonetheless, no matter how talented Calista's latent talent was, it would still take years for her to obtain absolute control over her newfound strength.
...
Azmond and the gang made their way over to a sushi joint called 'Fishtopia', all while conversing among themselves, completely ignoring the onlookers who stared at them as they walked by.
Such an occurrence was of course due to his handsome appearance as a High-Rank silver foxkin king.
But in actuality, the majority of the pedestrians were looking at Calista
It may not have seemed like it when she had a thin frame and grime all over her body, but her looks were astounding, to say the least.
Those big, round, cloudy gray eyes, long, beautiful white hair, and her 'developing figure' were capable of enrapturing even those of the same gender.
However, Azmond allowed no such stares to go too far, as the more audacious ones who felt the need to approach her were given the death glares of the century.
In all honesty, he wanted to just kill all the men who gave her nasty stares and be done with it, but when he recalled the apprehension in her actions when she had to kill the 'half-dead' monsters presented to her, he opted against it.
So in the end, instead of doing it out in the open, he simply 'cleaned' them up in secret.
'No one gives lecherous looks at my little angel and gets away with their life intact.'
His expression darkened by a few degrees before he was pulled out of his reverie by one such case of a 'toad attempting to eat swan meat'.
A well-built man with medium-length blonde hair and dark brown eyes approached Calista with clear infatuation in his gaze.
'I have never seen a girl so beautiful in my entire life! I must get my grubby little hands on her!'
That was what Azmond assumed was going through that man's head as he neared their group.
"Excuse me, miss!"
The blonde man attempted to get Calista's attention as he appeared on the opposite side of Azmond.
"... Mhmm?"
Calista heard someone talking to her as she turned her head toward the source.
Her face, in all its cuteness, slightly tilted in the blonde-haired man's direction, and that was when it hit him!
WHOOSH!
*Arghh!!*
"T-Too cute" He mumbled, his expression dazed.
The current state of the man was nothing short of a hypothesized trace, as it would probably be a few minutes before he snapped out of it.
"Azmond, why is there a statue man there?" Calista asked with a puzzled expression.
Why had the statue started talking to her? Was it a magical statue??
*Pitter patter*
She became a little scared at such an idea as she ran behind Azmond and clenched onto his silver kimono.
"I wouldn't worry too much about it, Calista," Azmond said, his hand petting her head.
She popped her face out of his kimono before she whispered, "Really?"
She believed Azmond wouldn't lie to her, but when she saw the 'statue man' not move, her expression turned a little weary.
"Yeah, yeah, he will be 'taken' off the streets in no time flat, so why don't we go ahead and head into the restaurant?"
"..."
Calista took one look at his face before a light blush emerged on her cheeks.
It took her a few seconds to calm down before she responded, "Fish good."
However, such a simple response was followed by her disappearing back into Azmond's kimono.
She didn't want him to see the look she had on her face
'Why isn't his disguise working anymore? Please work'
She bemoaned the effects that his charisma had on her even while using his 'lesser form'.
"Hmm?"
Azmond wondered what her reaction was all about. But after thinking about it for a second, he realized she was always like that.
So he discarded the matter and lightly grabbed Calista's hand before moving toward the entrance to 'Fishtopia'.
However, just as they were about to step foot into the futuristic establishment, the bright afternoon sky suddenly had its light switch turned off.
"Why did it become so dark all of a sudden?" He muttered, his expression one of confusion.
His gaze traveled up to the sky, but what he sawor rather, what he didn't seeleft him a little bit bewildered.
"A sti-?"
He attempted to get out his question, but before he could, a certain effervescent woman with long brown hair interrupted him.
|Look, Azmond, it's a flying sea fishy!| Boundless exclaimed, her eyes sparkling.
What turned the bright day into 'night' was, in actuality, just the head of a beast so large that even the entire city of 'Lumina'that acted like the central hub of the fifteenth floorhad a tenth of the entire sky blotted out with just the head of the beast!
"A stingray?"
Azmond ultimately got out what he was trying to say, as the first thing he did was activate his Discerning Quantum Eye.
A bright light flashed as a system panel appeared in his vision!
BLING!
[Stingcoil: Tier 0: Level 290]
{[Realm: Late Stages of Middle Unity Form Synthesis]},
{[Stats: Strength: 3,480,280k
Speed: 3,360,170k
Defense: 3,255,490k
Qi: 3,103,350k
{[Relationship Status: Neutral]} {[Secondary Lifeform Relationship Status: ???. (Could be hostile)]}
[Basic Information: The Stingcoil is a beast, typically in the Middle Unity Form Synthesis Realm, that travels along the fifteenth through nineteenth floors of the Luminous Grounds in the Nightmare Council (as long as there is a wide enough sky).]
[The Stingcoil is a hybrid between a stingray and a snake; usually black or dark red in color.]
[It houses tens of millions of monsterkin as a form of 'housing' being one of its main purposes (The aerial-based monsterkin live inside its feelers (impervious to the wind force that impacts the Stongcoil)).]
[The Stingcoil was the fourteenth hybrid breed created by a few insane monsterkin scientists.]
[It's sole purpose for creation; Trying to take yet another step further toward creating mobile world's], Accomplishment status [Failed]
[These 'world's' were supposed to allow a way for the mass majority of the monsterkin to travel out past the Starry Seaboard without needing to be in the Tribulation Transcendence Realm] [Failed]
[Reason for failure: The Stingcoil (At least the ones with the ability to fly) died upon making it thousands of miles out from the border between the starry seaboard and the outer rims. They were not strong enough to resist the spatial anomalies that circle around the world of Asterion.]]}
